I'm excited to read this one, as I've been reading a lot lately about similar topics. However, I struggled to get into the last Longenecker book I read, so I'm a little nervous, too. Has anyone else had success with this author?
I wrote to the Professor Manuel Alfonseca about this. I have heard very good about Mr. Longenecker. My beloved Pearce admires a lot to Mr. Longenecker.
My friend the Professor, Jaime Blanch and me had a discussion about science fiction and we spoke rather well about this group. I greet to the other moderator John Seymour i wish there was a way to translate the contain of the podcast 🤔.
Fonch, do you mean Joseph Pearce? If he admires Fr. Longenecker, then I have nothing to worry about ☺️
You have the evidence https://theimaginativeconservative.or... I read a lot the Dwight De Longenecker's articles. They are not bad 🤔.
I did not say previously but Joseph Pearce is my favorite writer with the permission of Juan Manuel de Prada and the Professor Manuel Alfonseca 🙂.
Did you know Joseph Pearce has a TV show on EWTN? That's a Catholic TV station in USA. You can watch lots of their content online!https://ondemand.ewtn.com/free/Home/S...

Starting today with the Hydra, bring me my sword and some fire!

It is curious what Richard Hannay says, because recently in one of my last readings I have also met an author who exalts René Girard. Specifically in the last chapter of the book. I am referring to the book "Compasión. Una historia" by Manuel Alejandro Rodríguez de la Peña. As the saying goes, the world is a handkerchief and nothing that happens in it is a coincidence.
Alright, I have nearly caught up, this book arrived yesterday on my porch the next book (Voyage to Alpha Centauri) has already been ordered for some time, I just hope, that the next one won't need a month for shipping :P.Thanks again for choosing 3 books in advance, which gives me enough headway to order in time :).

It was the result of a quadruple tie in the monthly voting. It was the first time this had happened. We had a couple of triple ties and many double ties before.
Anyway, we did change the rules to vote 45 days before, rather than 15 days before starting reading.

45 days is much appreciated! I get 90% of my books from the library, and depending on when the book was last checked out, I could wait up to three weeks or more for a copy! Having a little leeway makes a huge difference!
We were on pilgrimage in Uganda much of October. I read the book on the plane but can't seem to find my notes now. I found it somewhat disappointing, flippant in places where he should have engaged other viewpoints more thoughtfully. e.g. It isn't fair or accurate to dismiss Vatican II as compromising Catholic verities.
