I have a question regarding nominations. I nominated one that is the 6th in a series, so we're okay with not nominating the first in a series? I know many of them could be stand alones and it's not necessary to read the previous books to jump right in anywhere.

Yes, if that's the case Kelly, it's fine! Often the best books in a series are not the first ones, so we just do our best, and trust that if someone knows it is not a standalone, they will say!

In that case, I should probably point out that Behold, Here's Poison is in a series and is not the first book. However, I have read the earlier books in the series and although they were good, they had nothing whatever to do with each other.

I do think Superintendent Hannasyde, who made his appearance in Death in the Stocks is going to stick for the remainder of the series.

In fact, I would be happy to change my nomination to the first Hannasyde book Death in the Stocks. I just finished it recently but would love to discuss it! I leave it to the moderator to decide.

We haven't had either as a group read, Jessica, so I'm happy to go with your latter thought. Then if it's really popular, we can read the other one(s) at some point. Thanks for your perspective on this.
