MountainKat | 32364 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though. I will use the team leader as a point of contact if needed.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 9, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

MountainKat | 32364 comments Hi all, Jill did not sign up in the main thread. Since she is an experienced player, I am guessing that is because of the GR changes rather than disinterest.

If one of you could message her, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, I added Karen to your team. I think she is likely the best fit of the remaining participants. 😊

Just let me know when you decide and let me know who is going to be the team leader this round. 😊

message 15: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11528 comments I'm sure glad some of you are better at names than I am, because I really stink at coming up with them! I'd be fine with any of the suggestions, but I think Books on the Rocks and Shaken & Stirred are my favorites.

I'm pretty flexible when it comes to finding something to read for challenges, so I'm fine with everything you all have carried over from before. My only issue is I listen to audio almost exclusively, especially if there is a time crunch involved...I read fairly slowly, and also tend to get distracted so it takes me FOREVER to get through a book if I have to actually read it!

Here are my responses for the tasks that require our information:

✅12. Read a book recommended to you by a teammate - no pass for this task.
The House in the Cerulean Sea or Somewhere Beyond the Sea (series rule applies for this task)
Naked in Death
Sidecar
Into Deep Waters
Dragon Bound

✅53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task. Another Washington state girl here!

✅58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate. I joined in 2011

✅74. Read 6 books published in a teammates' birth month, you may not use your own month. Another overlap...I'm April too.

✅91. Add up the years of the teammates' births and each teammate reads a book with that minimum number of pages. For example, teammates were born in 75, 83, 87 and 94 - each teammate reads a book at least 339 pages long. No pass for this task. 60

✅99. Each teammate lists 5 favorite books. Select books from 2 different teammates and read them.
Hard as It Gets
A Reason To Believe
Out in the Field
Archer's Voice
The Nothingness of Ben

~KarenH~ | 11528 comments Well, I feel kind of silly coming into a more or less established team and taking the leader position, but I can do it if you want me to. I might fall slightly behing in the tracking occasionally, but I always get caught up eventually! Fortunately Kat doesn't really depend on our tracking for this challenge, so it should all be good if that's what you all want..

Eugenia (eugereviews) | 2227 comments First call! Do we want PARANORMAL or ORANGE/BLACK COVER?

First Task - All Teams!

Task 1 - 0. Read a book that is MPG Paranormal or a books that has both black and orange on the cover, teams decide.

October is wonderful in many ways - fall weather, football, pumpkin spice and especially Halloween! As a team decide whether you will read books that are MPG Paranormal or books with both black and orange on the cover, then each teammate reads a book that matches the team’s decision. To qualify as MPG (main page genre), on the main page of the book under the precis, there is a section that says "Genres". Anything listed under that section is counted as an MPG. You may use anything that shows when you click 'more', but not if you click 'show all'. For books to qualify under the cover color option, both black and orange need to be on the cover. The selected covers do not have to be primarily black and/or orange, but both colors must be present on the cover. You can use any edition’s cover to qualify your book. If in doubt, please ask

MountainKat | 32364 comments Here is your next task!

Task 2 - 10. Read 4 books by authors who write under more than one name (Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb).

Books selected for this task need to be written by authors who write under more than one name. Authors such as Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb or Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick/Jayne Castle would work for this task. Please include a link to the author’s profile or website showing both names in your completion posts.

~KarenH~ | 11528 comments Score! I have a book on my M&G list that works for both this and the current PtP task! I'll be reading Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1) by Gail Carriger by Gail Carriger, aka G L Carriger.

I love it when I can multi-task!

~KarenH~ | 11528 comments Just wasting this post so the tracking posts can be at the very top of page 2 - just to make them a bit easier to find (yes, I'm weird that way...) 😁
