**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though. I will use the team leader as a point of contact if needed.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

Hi team!!! I've done this challenge a few times and it's one of my favorites. I live in Minnesota, so central time zone. I read most romance but typically don't love suspense if I can avoid it. Excited to read with you guys. I'm terrible at team names so if anyone had any please share away. I can lead if need be.

Hi everyone! Same I think it's my 3rd TART now. I am from PH. I read most genre but my fave are fantasy and romance. So excited to start this challenge with you guys.

I've never done this challenge before but this is my first year doing challenges on Goodreads in general. I read A LOT and can generally read 2-3 books a day because of my job.
I'm from Ohio. I primarily read romance, but will pretty much read anything if it catches my interest. (I nominate Brittney as team leader. I would make a terrible choice with my ADHD.)

Also, how about we call ourselves the Swoon Sisters or the Swoon Squad (instead of Goon squad) since we like to read swoonworthy romance books?

I love challenges but have never done one with this group. I typically read at least one book a day - sometimes more depending on the day.

I live in southern PA, I read mostly romance, fantasy and mystery but I will read just about anything.

I don't care who the team leader is as long as it's not me because like Gwen said I would stink because the ADHD is REAL!

Sorry it took me so long to check in - I've been living at my kid's school this week for book fair!

First Task - All Teams!

Task 1 - 0. Read a book that is MPG Paranormal or a books that has both black and orange on the cover, teams decide.

October is wonderful in many ways - fall weather, football, pumpkin spice and especially Halloween! As a team decide whether you will read books that are MPG Paranormal or books with both black and orange on the cover, then each teammate reads a book that matches the team’s decision. To qualify as MPG (main page genre), on the main page of the book under the precis, there is a section that says "Genres". Anything listed under that section is counted as an MPG. You may use anything that shows when you click 'more', but not if you click 'show all'. For books to qualify under the cover color option, both black and orange need to be on the cover. The selected covers do not have to be primarily black and/or orange, but both colors must be present on the cover. You can use any edition’s cover to qualify your book. If in doubt, please ask

Hi guys here's our first challenge, I am going to heavily root for covers with black and orange but everyone throw your vote in. Once we have 3 for something let's just start reading that!

I’ll vote for orange and black too. I don’t like paranormal romances.

I'm sorry, but this book does not qualify for this challenge. The page count is 114 and the minimum for the challenge is 150. 🙁

So lots going on here - I'll try to tackle them one at a time.

● I will not be waiting for corrections until later in the challenge, so Christene's page count correction isn't a problem.

● Gwen's book does not qualify and will need to be made up. I will go ahead and assign Task 2 today, but the book will need to be made up before I assign Task 3.

● Michelle has not checked back in since before the challenge began. I will message her, but it is her responsibility to maintain communication. If she checks in by tomorrow, I will allow her to remain in the challenge. Otherwise, she will be eliminated and you will be a team of 3.

So to sum it up, I will assign your next task now. Gwen's book for Task 1 will need to be made up before Task 3 will be assigned. We are in a wait and see on Michelle.

Any authors you guys want to read? I prefer contemporary romances. I tend to avoid paranormal/fantasy romances, but I'll read anything. And I really don't like Colleen Hoover books.

I'll nominate R.S. Grey. Her books are easy to read and tend to fall into contemporary romcoms.R.S. Grey

I did find some R.S Grey on Libby too. Let me know if you don't see her anywhere. Im finishing up one of hers now. If we have to switch I would prefer to avoid Meghan Quinn. Her books are so long.

I'm almost done with an R.S. Grey book too.

For future challenges when we all have to agree on something I think se all put a couple ideas in and plug them into a drawing.

I will check on KU - I don't read on my kindle much because it tends to trigger migraines more so than print books but I will just space out my reading!

I like the idea of putting names into a drawing for next time!
