I humbly apologise if I'm being daft and I accept W. Somerset Maugham is far from a little known author, but....
is Ashenden not fringe fiction? It's on its own, outside of what is otherwise written, on the fringe of the accepted format for a crime/mystery thriller. Having read it, I can't stop thinking about the content: at the end of each event, I was left deflated, yet still wanted to read more. The preface does give a hint of what is to come, but again, having read the preface I wanted in.
Is there anyone out there who has also read the mind-teaser?
