Ryan | 1 comments Any good recommendations on any books that give B horror movie vibes?

Leslie Kurt | 5 comments Self-rec for Appalachian Siren (some have said it is like a modern "I Spit On Your Grave"). Other authors I can suggest would be Brian G. Berry and Jerry Blaze. Another author, Max Gunssler, writes B-movie-style books, but they aren't all horror. Some of Gunssler's books are trashy superhero books.

Whitney | 38 comments Check out the "Killer VHS" series from Shortwave publishing.

Most the books in Grady Hendrix's "Paperbacks from Hell" would qualify. Valencourt has republished many of them.

If you're looking for b-movie vibes that are also smartly meta about b-movies, I second The Hillbilly Moonshine Massacre. Also Joe R. Lansdale's The Drive-In.

Jessica | 146 comments I second Killer VHS!

Candy Cain Kills has been my favorite so far and she's getting a sequel in November! 😁

Candy Cain Kills (Killer VHS Series, #2) by Brian McAuley Candy Cain Kills Again The Second Slaying (Killer VHS Series Book 5) by Brian McAuley

Also, I saw that James S Murray (one of the guys from Impractical Jokers) has several horror books and read Don't Move out of curiosity and it was a pretty good B horror-type story. 🕷 I added a Christmas horror of his to read in December.

The Ghost That Ate Us is a mockumentary book where the author as a character investigates a haunted fast food restaurant.

Lots of fun, really unique and definitely a very solid B movie vibe!
