Does anyone have any advice on how to write a short story and how to come up with ideas for a short story?

For me, short stories are ideas that won't take much explaining of the world, and focuses more on the characters. I honestly don't plan my short stories before writing them, although I probably should.

ummm i'd just think of things that don't requite a lot of explanation or build-up. also, try not to over-explain things. simplify them if you can.
