I first heard about this book and series on the All Things Murderful Poccast. Since then, I seem to run across someone that is reading on the books or talking about it. It sounds like it is right up my alley, so I'm going to read Knots and Crosses by Ian Rankin.
I have more than a few choices for this prompt! I've tentatively decided on Songs of Love and War, the first book in a historical fiction series by Santa Montefiore, who has written something like 25 novels plus some children's books.
I’ve chosen Dan Jones, a favorite nf author of mine. For this prompt I’ll read The Wars of the Roses: The Fall of the Plantagenets and the Rise of the Tudors.
Every summer Riley Sager and Ruth Ware publish a new book. This might be a great prompt to put one of their books under (without having the slightest clue where else they could fit.) Or I could read another Agatha Christie.
I'm using this prompt to finally read Tom Lake by Ann Patchett, who has written at least 32 books. For my second round, I'm reading Cold Earth by Ann Cleeves another writer with over 30 books.
I'm not sure which book it will be yet, but it will probaby be by either Stephen King, Ann Patchett, Kristin Hannah, or William Kent Krueger.
For a little twist, I might read a new to me author like William Kent Krueger (Desolation Mountain) or Isabel Allende (Daughter of Fortune or Violeta).
I'll be reading A Stroke of the Pen: The Lost Stories by my favourite author Terry Pratchett, who wrote a lot more than seven books, but still not enough.
I plan on reading a book by prolific crime writer E.C.R. Lorac, who wrote under other pseudonyms during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction. I'll probably read Crook o' Lune.Other choices:
The Dean's Watch - Elizabeth Goudge
This Real Night - Rebecca West
I read:
Cardington Crescent by Anne PerryREJECT: A book with a character who works in law enforcement
Finished: 02/13/2025
Rating: 4 stars
#8 in the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt mystery series set in Victorian London. I so enjoy Anne Perry's books.
This is another Wild Card topic, and I used it to read the often recommended Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
I read The Ghost Road by Pat Barker for this topic. I believe she has published 16 books to date. (Read March 23rd; 3*)
I read Tom Lake by Ann Patchett and Exposure by Helen Dunmore. Both authors have written at least fourteen books.I very much enjoyed both books and the very different atmospheres they conjured up. The recreation of the early 60s and the Cold War atmosphere in Exposure were particularly good. Tom Lake was generally such a happy read, by far my favourite book by this author.
In 2023, I read A Postcard from Capri by Alex Brown
I read Greek Lessons by Han Kang for this prompt. She has written 14 books. This one was my least favorite of hers that I read, but it was still okay, and honestly, I think it may have had more to do with my state of mind when I read it than her writing.
I am reading The Adventurous Four by Enid Blyton. I always enjoyed the Famous Five books but have never read the Adventurous Four!
I read the 5th book in the Andy Carpenter series by David Rosenfelt, Dead Center. There are at least 30 books in the series.
I read Somewhere Beyond the Sea by T.J. Klune, the sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea. Somehow he has written 35 books! I've only read 3 of his more recent ones though. Really enjoyed this one :)
I read Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell. I have read 4 of her books and this was probably my least favorite but it kept me wondering what would happen next.
