Play Book Tag discussion

I don't remember when I read this the first time, but it was when my kids were the right age for this book. This isn't a graphic novel the way we think of them, although I shelved it that way. There is no text on the same page as the pictures, so the text when it comes is like a book's texts, not just dialogue. Most of the drawings are by the author, but he has used a few with permission as well as some old photos etc permission. This book is fiction, but one of the characters was real, and why spoil it by writing it here? The blurb doesn't say and I think it's far better to read this without knowing.

Hugo has taken over his missing uncle's job although he doesn't know how to cash his uncle's cheques (this is set in 1931) so he gets food in various ways (with change he finds, discards and a bit of thievery). This job--no doubt outdated now--was to travel in the ceilings to set and maintain all fo the train station's clocks in Paris. The blurb gives you just the right amount of information, IMO.
