I don’t know why they do

Knowledge can be useful, pleasurable, or both.

Survival- knowledge and understanding are necessary to flourish in a world we are thrown into.

In this day and age --when we're drowning in pointless, superficial information --I mark 'information addiction' as a trait of hollow and shallow individuals. It's as if some of these, 'hollow men' simply have nothing else to cling to --no families, no relationships, no country, no community. No other beliefs to sustain them.
