In the quiet of the mind, place shadows slither,
A battle rages, frequently secret deep.
Whispers of doubt, like a storm each evening,
Dim the world’s banner, cloud wrong from right.

The burden of silence, burdensome and real,
Is used like a cloak that none can view.
A courage uncomfortable, a being in disguise,
Searching for solace, but judgment only lies.

Yet inside the ignorance, a flicker debris,
A spark of elasticity that frustrates the chains.
Though the journey loiter, and the course is ambiguous,
The substance to hold on foot is forever forthcoming.

So be compassionate yourself when the storm feels also offensive,
When your soul feels destroyed, and your head is bent.
For restorative delay, it’s a slow, mild cunning,
A mixture of hope stitched into the essence.

In each progress, though narrow it may appear,
You build toward the light, toward the dream.
And in the quiet, you will find your voice—
To mention your struggles, to recover, to rejoice.
