Play Book Tag discussion

Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire are still in the clutches of the fiend Count Olaf. They are brought to the mountains where Olaf and his crew intend to destroy VFD headquarters. Violet and Klaus are sent to almost certain death when Olaf releases the caravan in which they are riding but the 2 older Baudelaires manage to keep from sliding completely down the slippery slope of the mountainside. Sunny is kept prisoner by the Count and forced to cook and clean for the entire dastardly group. Violet sets her inventive mind to work out a solution to ascending the mountain in order to rescue their baby sister.

This series is so much fun and it's nice to see just how sweet these children are. When they had a plan to trap one of Olaf's minions in a pit, they realized it would be evil and they don't want to be anything like the Count. Sunny is growing up and is not quite the baby she has been in the first 9 books. She is very bright and able to work out her own solutions to problems. In this book the reader is told that VFD stands for Volunteer Fire Department. Maybe that is the final explanation of the letters.
