I loved it, but I'm not 100 % sure why. It was kind of like meditating. I admit that it could be considered a boring book, but I felt refreshed after reading it.

My re-reading The Castle of Otranto recently has influenced my interpretation of this book, because it really felt like an 18th century gothic romance dropped into a 21st century cli-fi setting.
