I agree that these picks were excellent, best since July’s! I would have been happy with 8 of them, but I am restricting myself to 1 account and got - The Three Lives of Cate Kay, Isaac’s Song, The Stolen Queen, A Killing Cold and A Sea of Unspoken Things. I put The Favorites, What Happened To the McCrays and More or Less Maddy on hold at the library.

My birthday is in January, so I'm going to wait to order my books until January so I can get my free book. I have and I have been waiting to hear from NetGalley about .

I loved Lisa Genova's book so I'd love to get but waiting to hear from NetGalley for that one and . I have a couple of days to decide what to do, but I KNOW the minute I order a book that's been requested on NetGalley, I'll get it after paying for it! lol

I got A Killing Cold

I was excited last night when I saw I had a birthday book, but I was up until super late so I was going to order my books today. Turns out that it doesn't show it now and leaves me no option than to order my usual 5 books. I don't know what to do. If I order my books but don't get my birthday book, would I get it next month instead. I definitely have been a member since December 2023 and I'm BFF status, so I don't know why I don't see a way to get my free book.

I have all of my books in the box and it shows I have 1 credit, but I assume that's because the books aren't ordered yet.

Yes, DON'T ORDER! You can email or call them (there is a BFF number) and they will be able to help you with the credit.
I know they were having site issues today so that may be why, but make sure they give you the credit!

I guess I didn't know how it worked exactly. When I went back on it had my birthday "REDEEM" button to click and when I did it gave me a free book I'd already put in my box. I thought I would buy my 5 and the 6th would be free. So is that how it works? I still got my 5 books but they made Isaac's Song my free birthday book, so I still got 5 books, not 6.

Yes, the free book just gives you a free credit. We're still maxed at 5 books (which is a huge jump from the 3 books we'd been locked at for years!) because of the size of the box and possible size of books you can order. I don't know if they'll bump the max up any time soon but the 3 max we had is why I have 2 accounts.

Well, I'll take a free 5th book anytime! lol

Would you believe that yesterday when I got my free book they said, Isaac's Song would be my free book. Then, this morning, I got an email from NetGalley and I got the same book from them obviously for free. I wonder if they'd let me remove that one and pick another or if I have to keep it and just give my physical copy away.

Typically, if you can catch BOTM before they send out your box, then you can cancel and re-order. But you have to catch them quick. It's worth a try, if you do want to change your book selections

OK, I'll give it a shot and see. I'll just email them but if they won't, I'll gift it to Heather or someone who would like it.

I sent an email to BOTM and someone named Molly messaged me back. She did it for me! She removed that book so now I can get one more...yay! I was very impressed with such a quick response. :)

They really do have some great customer service! I'm so glad that worked out!

I picked since it intrigued me especially since I heard it’s a Wuthering Heights retelling. I also got since I missed out on it last month. I realized now I also wanted to add this but I had already shipped my box but oh well, maybe next month!

I just realized that all three of the above books are on audio, so cool! I can read along with Killing Cold. I was also just now approved for
another book that I just got from BOTM. I wish that NetGalley would respond quicker. lol Oh well, at least I can search for words, etc. It's funny I've been waiting for so long and I get FOUR approved on one day. Maybe I'll get more approved today! lol

My BOTM hasn't been shipped yet so I don't know which books, if any from there, I can read on time and we have a full month of buddy reads!

I just received my BOX!!! I'm so excited! How can I still get so excited over books after so many years of getting them? LOL

I get giddy when my box arrives too! I have a second box I'm still waiting on so after getting books for christmas, getting 1 BOTM box and 1 Aardvark box, I'm STILL excited to get one more BOTM box full of books! lol It just never gets old!

Then I am normal? 😂 It’s like Christmas every time.
