John Marrs’ newest thriller - 4.4 rated on Amazon!

Kicking off 2025 with a different sort of story. This book centers around the development of metachildren—kids that live entirely in the metaverse but allow parents who either can't afford kids of their own, struggle with fertility, or people who are otherwise looking to experience being a parent an opportunity to try it.

Erica Nunn | 8 comments I just bought! This one has been on my list for ages as it sounds so interesting, more than your typical thriller. Was 99p on kindle which is a bonus!

Yes I’ve got high hopes - feels a bit science fictiony which is such a nice change!!

Erica Nunn | 8 comments This is genuinely such a good thriller. At first I found it really hard to keep up with each chapter being a different contestant as I kept forgetting who's story was who but it's easier now, especially since author includes snippets at the start of each chapter that makes you remember. I'm absolutely loving it!!

I love love loved this one! This is the first time I’ve given 5 stars to a thriller in a long time.

I loved all the newspaper snippets and the and the swapping between so many storyline’s that all came together nicely at the end. There needs to be more futuristic sci-fi thrillers because it’s such a fantastic blend of genres.

If you like Black Mirror this is genuinely the book for you because I actually think this is our reality in about 10 (ish) years 😅

Haley | 33 comments Loved this as well however I did feel like some parts dragged. I was frustrated at first with how much they jumped around however as the book went on, it felt seamless and easy to follow. Very well written. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the ending because it felt as though it almost over explained.

I know what you mean about the over explaining, it would’ve been nice as the reader to figure some of the background out on our own rather than an info dump at the end

Haley | 33 comments Completely agree! Most of it I had already assumed so it was almost annoying! However, I really liked the story overall.
