Changing Places question

Hello,

I have been searching for a while for a passage in one of David Lodge's books where he describes a group of English literature professors holding a contest to determine who has the most shameful unread book. The winner is revealed to be someone who has never read 'Moby Dick'. I own all of Lodge's novels but haven't been able to locate this episode. Could you please help me?
