I don't know how to feel about Sylvie. First I just hated her but after a while I was feeling sorry for her. Now it's an in-between because on the one hand she just wanted to be loved but on the other hand it's kind of her fault that Finny is dead. I mean it's not her fault but it is. Do you guys get me????

All I know is that I definitely like her more than both Finn and Autumn... they legit cheated with each other while she was away on vacation or whatever and they just completely overlooked that because "they're the main characters, so its okay".
Because the book was through Autumns POV, she made us think Sylvie was a mean girl and made us dislike her the way Autumn disliked her. But just like autumn, we didn't really know Sylvie, until Finn's POV in the second book - If Only I Had Told Her. And by the end of If Only I Had told Her, we started to get to know Sylvie and she is unique and kind, and not a mean girl. I think I like her.
honestly I like Sylvie because she had a right to dislike Autumn and be upset with Finny because she saw how Finn didn't see her and only saw Autumn. (like she had a right to be mad/jealous if that makes sense)

I started to feel bad after I finished the first book. NO SPOILERS. I do think the first one gets a bad rep because Autumn was in High School and yeah, what teenager hasn't made dumb decision in High School, most of them petty and superficial, but realistic nontheless. I do think the second book makes a point to show growth for eveyone as they prepare for college, so you get a better sense of everyone's emotions- including Sylvie.
