Hi guys so happy February!! so here is a question/discussion of the week: Jo’s desire for independence and a writing career sets her apart from traditional expectations. How does her character challenge societal norms, and do you think she ultimately finds fulfillment?

please write your thoughts :))

Natalija (sprinkesprinke) | 2 comments I think that in the end there is no fulfillment in terms of the role of a writer, and the reason is because the future she chose in the end pulled her away from her desire to write. Maybe she realized that she wanted something else in life in the end and that she was actually going against herself before, but deep down she wanted the same thing as her sisters but didn't want to act ordinary? This is one way of thinking

Oh I kinda see that but I also think that she realizes that her desires is not just to be independent but to also find her person who thinks like her and challenges her, something that she believes Laurie couldn't :)
