The best MG book I read in January was the graphic novel Go with the Flow. Every 9-13 year old, both male and female, should read this one! A couple of others I liked were The Secret Letters and Monsters in the Mist.
For January, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen. It was a great beginning to the series with secrets kept by characters not revealed to the reader immediately and had some ambiguous villains that made the story compelling. A good adventure book to get lost in for day.

For myself, I'd say my favorites were the historical The Bletchley Riddle by Ruta Sepetys, which gives a peek into wartime code-breaking and the action-packed Charlie Thorne and the Last Equation by Stuart Gibbs, which also had a puzzle to crack, spies, and geniuses. And I seriously loved everything about the world created for The Girl from Earth's End by Tara Dairman, which involves a horticultural quest. All the feels & tightly woven. Recommended!
