Hard to say if Farnsworth will survive this. In reality, no, he would have to resign. It does make it harder for the families. They had to wait years for closure and justice. It was better for the truth to come out for everyone.
I feel sorry for Farnsworth. There are so many bad apples in his barrel: Stahl, Conklin, the SVU detective (whose name escapes me right now), and the lazy cop who hit Sam. He's got his work cut out to restore the force's reputation and credibility.
I agree. With all the corruption that continually surfaces, I don't know how the police did their jobs. I don't know how Farnsworth will survive this one.
I really don't know which would be worse for the families. On one hand an unsolved murder case would keep them wondering for the rest of their lives. But to find out that someone that your loved one trusted had something to do with their murder would be devastating too. I guess I would rather have the murder solved and see the culprit go to prison. As far as Farnsworth, I wouldn't be surprised if was asked to resign.
