So I have one from both a book and a movie!"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing's going to get better-- it's not."
--Dr. Suess
Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense, and it is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.Guess the book/movie (it's both) 😉

"As he looked up into the ink-black sky, he screamed at the top of his lungs as a plea for someone to hold him back. Someone who could hold him up and comfort him. Someone who could assure him that this wasn’t his last chapter and that he still could author the scripts of his own happiness."The Shards of Silence by Jalees. Do check it out.

Laura, if you were asking if that was the place I got my quote from, no. I'll give you a hint: the book was made in the 1900s by Nick Sparks.

Oh, I've heard that one! I can't place where it's from, but, like, all the teachers and counselors and parents say it all the time!!!
“Sometimes I wondered if I was seeing the same thing through my eyes that the rest of the world was seeing through theirs. Maybe there was a glitch in my brain. But the cause didn’t matter. All that mattered was the effect. And tomorrow would be just the beginning.”
Lol. That one's good, Haven. Okay, so this one is from my bestie, we're gonna call her Chica.
So, when I had my first break up, I told Chica the morning after my ex had texted me that we should just be friends. She looked at me as I rested my head in the wall and slipped her hand into mine.
She said, "Elsie? You'll find someone so much better."
I looked at her and said, "I already did.
"You."
I hope you all have besties who support you in every human way possible because you deserve someone who will always be there for you.
This is another thing Chica said: "Maybe I should just leave it TO annoy you." She's such a dork. Here is some good inspiration:
"Obstacles are put in front of us to show us who we are when we overcome them."
This one isn’t part of a book, but I always loved this quote. “I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”
-Marilyn Monroe
“ He is half of my soul, as the poets say. I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell. I would know him blind. “ - The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
My first quote - the one about love - was from A Walk to Remember by Nick Sparks, which the book was published in 1999, and the majestic movie was made in 2006. Yes, the quote is from the Bible, as Jamie does tell Landon in the book. In the movie, it's in a book that her mother wrote before she died. It was a journal of her thoughts.
@Rufusonpluto, who's talking about who in that book?? What's the relationship between the characters? I relate to that!!! 🥹 (Except my relation isn't a boy.)
Books:“No mourners, no funerals.” (I sometimes say that to friends lol)
“Let's have a toast. To the incompetence of our enemies.”
This isn’t from a book or a movie, but it’s one of my favorite unknown quotes and it describes me perfectly: “Coffee. Because sarcasm needs to stay hydrated.”
"This is the oldest you've ever been but you will never be this young again." not from a book but help this actually made me rethink my life why is this quote deeper than i thought it was

Lots and lots of beautiful quotes:)
"happiness isn't always a good thing, once you're happy, you have much more to lose" its depressing but good!
its kind of long, but i love this quote from taylor swift- it matches books perfectly <33“When I was a little girl I used to read fairy tales. In fairy tales you meet Prince Charming and he's everything you ever wanted. In fairy tales the bad guy is very easy to spot. The bad guy is always wearing a black cape so you always know who he is. Then you grow up and you realize that Prince Charming is not as easy to find as you thought. You realize the bad guy is not wearing a black cape and he's not easy to spot; he's really funny, and he makes you laugh, and he has perfect hair.”
“I cannot tell you how you will survive without me. I cannot tell you how to mourn me. I cannot convince you to not feel guilty if you forget the anniversary of my death, or if you realize days or weeks or months have gone by without thinking about me. I just want you to live.”― Adam Silvera, They Both Die at the End
I geet goosebumps every time.
"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." ~ Jeremiah 29:13."The secret of happiness you see, is not found in seeking more, but in the capacity to enjoy less." ~ Dan Millman (Socrates in The way of the peaceful warrior.)
“For me, traveling is about wandering, meeting people you don’t expect, doing things you’ve never done.” -People we meet on vacation, Emily Henry

"It's strange how many ways there are to miss someone. You miss the things they did and who they were, but you also miss who you were to them. The way everything you said and did was beautiful or entertaining or important. How much you mattered”― Robin Roe, A List of Cages
You are not here to be perfect. None of us are. You are here to live.- Matt Haig, from his novel "The Life Impossible"
All of his books are super quotable; 90% of the quotes on my profile are from him LOL
“to whatever end” from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas …in the book it means that the two characters (I won’t say names because I don’t wanna spoil) will do whatever to be together but I think another take on it could be that you’ll do whatever it takes to achieve your goal!! I actually loved the quote so much I bought a decal of it for the back window of my car 🩷
"Some ppl get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss... but every once in a while you get someone who's... iridescent. But when you do, nothing will ever compare. " -- Chet Duncan from the movie FlippedLove Love LOVE this quote!!!
"and if you look for it you'll find that love actually does exist all around you"
"When you realise the world is a reflection of your state and thinking you realise no one is actually bothering you. Its you fighting with yourself"
“I opened two gifts today and they were my eyes.”This one is short but very meaningful and has stuck with me. It is a reminder to implement gratitude and mindfulness. It encourages to appreciate the fundamental aspects of our existence that we often overlook :)

« I would be Medusa, if it came to it, I resolved. If the gods held me accountable one day for the sins of someone else, if they came for me to punish a man’s actions, I would not hide away like Pasiphae. I would wear that coronet of snakes, and the world would shrink from me instead. » + «Pasiphae. Semele. Medusa. Now a hundred grieving mothers. The price we paid for the resentment, the lust, and the greed of arrogant men was our pain, shining and bright like the blade of a newly honed knife. Dionysus had once seemed to me the best of them all, but i saw him now for what he was, no different from the mightiest of the gods. Or the basest of men.» - Ariadne
"In the darkness, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood, like a hundred golden urns pouring out the sun. "(instant tears. the reunion they both waited so long for. )
"But one day I'll have to explain about my nightmares. Why they came. Why they won't ever really go away.
I'll tell them how I survive it. I'll tell them that on bad mornings, it feels impossible to take pleasure in anything because I'm afraid it could be taken away. That's when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do. It's like a game. Repetitive. Even a little tedious after more than twenty years.
But there are much worse games to play."
(this one has to be included. i read it when i was 12 i think, and it stuck with me. )
