The Rory Gilmore Book Club discussion

Hii guys im trying to read a book I found at my local library because I thought the cover was beautiful, I jumped straight in without reading the synopsis to be surprised and Ive been enjoying the book until chapter 4 when Matthew was introduced and now im hesitant to keep reading it now that I know its labeled as a romance book. It reminds me of the Fourth Wing, its fun but it has the son of the enemy bad boy shadow/dark magic wielding troupe and although I don't mind it I really don't want it to be poorly written romance while ignoring the magic system which im more interested in. Any thoughts are appreciated, im scared to read the book's review here on gr because of spoilers

Honestly I adored this book. I wouldn't even categorize it as a typical romance? I felt more of the focus on Hecate's magic, her family, and all the different types of witchery. I also liked its focus on food, like I actually became a better cook because of this book. It's definitely all about that magic system!

I think it's a very lovely and cozy read, but I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a Fourth Wing/ACOTAR type of book. The romance is more of a subplot, but a sweet one nonetheless.
