Hi Jaclyn,

On Jan. 15 you wrote elsewhere (in the topic 'Open letter' after your return from maternity leave):
"I've bumped the ability to archive requests in other folders, [...], internally."

Could you please inform us what the present status is and possibly also when we may expect this anxiously awaited feature to be rolled out to the folders other than 'Adding New Books/Editions'?

I completely agree with Emmy. It would save us so much time if we didn't have to go through all those requests, especially in the folders 'Page Numbering Requests' and 'Book & Author Page Issues'.

+1 I waste a lot of time when I go back through missed requests.

Thanks Jaclyn. Really hope this can be implemented. It's been the #1 item on my Goodreads wishlist for a long time.

That's a bit disappointing, Jaclyn. I hope your renewed bump will be more successful. In the meantime could some moderators be persuaded to spend their precious time in cleaning up the various folders and archive all closed topics?

Any update on this?
Not being able to mark and see a post as done is definitely a huge time waster and source of frustration.
This option already exists on another folder so it SEEMS like it shouldn't be too hard to add for other folders.
Please make it easier for us Librarians to help Goodreads.

There is a random one that was posted in the Announcements folder. I thought that was supposed to be for GoodReads employees only. I know that when we were asked for our opinions about folders that seemed to be the consensus.

I was curious about just how many requests were in the wrong folders. I started with Additions to Librarian Manual. There are 17 messages that need to be moved out of the folder.

Does anyone think sending the list to support would do anything?

Here it is in case Jaclyn or someone else from support wants to move them.

As an aside I think that the phrase “Discussions from Librarians” would be a more fitting title. Yes, we ask questions there, but many times it is more than that.

Probably best to start a new discussion for these kinds of requests going forward, as this one was started for updates on archive functionality for added folders. 😊

Another three(!) months have passed without any feedback whatsoever with regard to the anxiously awaited extension of the 'Marked Done' feature to all so-called requests-folders other than 'Adding New Books & Editions'.

Can you please push developers and prioritize this archive functionality? It would help us librarians tremendously!

@Jaclyn: Can we please have an update on the present status ?

Fingers and toes crossed that this will be added at some point! It has worked phenomenally well in the one folder where it was implemented, seems like such a no-brainer that would save so much Librarian blood, sweat, and tears :)

No update to share. I promise to let you know if I hear anything, no need to bump this in the meanwhile 😊

@Jaclyn, you may feel that there's no need for us to bump this, but perhaps you don't realize that this archiving feature for folders other than Adding New Books/Editions has been asked for since nearly two years and is anxiously waited for, because it would save us librarians so very much of our precious time.

And the more so, whilst it would most probably not be such a big issue for developers to create something similar to the already implemented feature existing since Summer 2023 for the folder 'Adding New Boods/Editions'.

Extending this feature to other folders would make a huge difference in our work... Don't you agree that implementing this archiving feature to the other folders would be a small token of appreciation for everything that we librarians do? Please, please try and get this prioritized!
