In March we will be reading Shirley by Charlotte Brontë for our State of the Nation category - who's in?

N.B. given how long this one is, I suggest we keep it active for 2 months, i.e. until end of April...

Mela (melabooks) | 93 comments I am going to read it. I have made a book reservation in my library. I will read it rather at the end of the month, I think.

Pamela (bibliohound) | 156 comments I’m planning to read this, I’ve had it on my shelf for a long time.

Mela (melabooks) | 93 comments Well, I can't say I was gripped by the novel. I found it a bit exhausting.

However, it was a rather interesting view into Charlotte Bronte's head (and hearth).

I agree Mela, I’m nearly done but it’s been a hard slog. Even the dialogue is so wordy. But I like the curates!

Phil (lanark) | 643 comments Still got this to start - I'm finding that books are taking a long time to finish this year, when I don't feel like I'm reading any less than previous years.

I will say, however, that I find Charlotte the least interesting Bronte sister.
