What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I remember a book about a group of time travelers who return to well documented times when works of art were destroyed and bring them to the future. I think I read it in the early 90s, before Connie Willis' "To Say Nothing of the Dog" was released. I remember groups racing through bombed or burning buildings.

Is this the Company series by Kage Baker? In the Garden of Iden is the first in that series but they continue this particular activity in other books in the series.
