what are some of your favorite fantasy books you’ve read within the last year?? I truly love the shepherd king duology and nocticadia. i’m trying to read nightshade by keri lake right now, but i don’t know how i feel about it. most of the books i’ve read after shepherd king duology, i’ve dnf’ed lol. i need help finding a finished series or book to read next <3

I know of that book but the only reason I haven’t added it to my tbr is because of the bad reviews. But I saw your comment with a list of book recs under a different post and I think we have very similar taste in books! So I’ll definitely add it thank you :)

i liked Daughter of No Worlds by the same author! the crowns of nyaxia series is on my tbr but i’m trying to read completed series. i hear that one isn’t finished yet :(

Along with Kingdom of Wicked series. You should read it, its really good!

Also read We hunt the flame by Hafsah Faizal, it was nice too, loved the whole middle eastern setting in it.

Now that I look back.. in last 6-7 months I've mostly read fanatsy based books (maybe due to many new ones released this year)

Pretty famous and obvious choices were -
Iron flame and Onyx Storm (Empyrean series)
Reckless and Fearless (currently reading)

Other-
Heartless hunter/ crimson moth
Rebel witch

Re-read -
PJO (religiously every year)
A promise of fire( kingmaker chronicles)

You follow different houses in each, so technically, each house has a duology. Total is 6 books, but besides the standalones, there is a completed duology, and the last book comes out in August!

The Nightborn Duet:
The Serpent and the Wings of Night
The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King

The Shadowborn Duet:
The Songbird and the Heart of Stone
The Fallen and the Kiss of Dusk
(this comes out in August! I am so excited!!)

Standalones:
Six Scorched Roses
Slaying the Vampire Conqueror

A friend of mine has just finished reading Dance of Thieves and Vow of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson, and she fell in love with this doulogy. I want to read it too, it is on my physical TBR.

Warrior of the Wild is a great fantasy standalone by Tricia Levenseller

Duology wise- Again daughter of the pirate king by Tricia Levenseller

and the Shepheard kind series by Rachel Gillig so GOOD!

Her writing is just so good for me!

Yup its a trilogy! But there is also a spin off series if you want to read more of it! It called the Prince of Sin series.
