okay, I don't get the major hate on Lightlark. like yeah the writing is a little subpar, but i love the story line and the characters. and usually by the second to third book you kinda get bored (me with iron flame rn), but i think Aster does a good job keeping it fresh with love interests. maybe im a baby romantasy reader and I am unaware of how good these books can be, but the character development and twists are unmatched, i think if people look over the writing (mostly in the first book, i think she gets better as she goes on) the rest of the book is really good!

okay just kidding, finished the 3rd book, I changed my mind. feeling unhappy

I couldn’t get through lightlark. I stopped 56% in. I still wanna try and finish it so I might try the audio book. I personally just found the story a bit boring and you’re right about the writing style being subpar. I do really wanna read nightbane cause everyone and there mothers says that ones good, but lightlark wasn’t it for me

I love Lightlark! Yes, the writing could be better, but it's one of my favourite series, and the second book is one of my favourites!

The only issue I have is with the 3rd book, but that's more because of the story. I was happy about half way through, but when I got to 60/55% it started getting me sad/ anxious. I was emotionally exhausted by the end.
