Sam’s first test with the Secret Service was when she attempted to leave the house to go visit Gigi in the hospital. She opted to allow them to transport her with two agents now assigned to her (Vernon and Jimmy). Why did she acquiesce so easily? Did you think at the time she might be more reasonable?

Sam is stubborn, for sure, but some battles she is just destined to lose, and Secret Service protection was one of them. She gave in because she knew that it was a losing battle to fight right now.

I think you’re right, Anita. I was hoping here that she got a chance to see how normal she could make this be going forward.

Vernon and Jimmy played it just right too. They decided to take a basically hands off approach with her and to stay out of her way as much as possible.
