Dan | 250 comments What SF works of 39,999 words or less do you think the group might enjoy the most? Please feel free to nominate one, or two, for June 2025. Please select a title that is fairly easily accessed, under $10 in cost, or free is good too. Nominate by May 15. I hope to run polls (if we get more than four nominations) mid-May. Thanks!

Dan | 250 comments I wish to nominate The Exiles by Ray Bradbury, a 1949 SF short story. We have talked about Ray Bradbury in some discussions before, but he is not yet on our bookshelf.

Dan | 250 comments Since we only had the one nomination this month, I think we will make June a Ray Bradbury extravaganza month.

I will add the novella Lorelei of the Red Mist (1946), which he co-wrote with Leigh Brackett. Sometimes Brackett is given sole credit, but this is wrong.

In addition, let's include his earliest published Martian Chronicles story, "The Million Year Picnic" (1946). This isolated short story came before the idea of making the Mars tales a series ever arose. It stands alone well.
