There’s this guy who lives a while away and we were besties since birth. We were raised together until I moved far away, then we sent letters to each other every month and I saw him in person every summer. He’s a football player and is popular but he’s more reserved, quiet, and yet I was one of the only people who could make him laugh so hard we were both crying. We also went on a mini date to a lake, and played water tag and dived for the big rocks at the bottom of the lake. We went to the movie theater together too and watched a Spiderman movie and both stood up and yelled at the screen at the end at the same time. He taught me how to ride the unicycle and caught me when I fell off of it, giving me his arm when I wobbled, then say side by side on the dock while watching the 4th of July fireworks. And taught me how to shoot a layup in basketball and encouraged me in all the different sporty games we did even though he’s crazy competitive like I am (while being simultaneously polite about it. He’s more quietly competitive.) We rode bikes and talked about EVERYTHING when I visited him, and when we played four square with his siblings (who I am best friends with still. I’m also besties with everyone who knows him, even his PARENTS.) I even threw a birthday party for him early since I always missed it by just a few days. I thought for sure he liked me. But apparently not. Then we grew apart so slowly I didn’t even notice it happened until it was too late. For his latest birthday in August, no one told me he got a phone. Not even HIM. And once he told he got a phone, he didn’t give me his number even though he has all of his other friends’ numbers, so I guess we’re not even that good friends anymore 😔. Then he got a girlfriend that he brought to homecoming (SHE’S A CHEERLEADER AND HE STARTED LIKING HER BECAUSE SHE PUT A PICK UP LINE ON HIS DESK EVERY DAY FOR A MONTH.) I attempted to rekindle what we had by writing him another letter, but his sister answered and he didn’t. Yeah, that’s my fail of a story. 😔😭. Sorry this is so long, lol
