Stories from the Edge of the Sea Stories from the Edge of the Sea by Andrew Lam by Andrew Lam tells good slice-of-life stories about being Vietnamese and gay.

Richard Derus (expendablemudge) | 23 comments I don't think a lot of y'all will read a gay man's memoir of life under the theocracy in Iran. You should, because it's where this fascist nightmare in the US is headed unless you resist it. The Ayatollah's Gaze: A Memoir of the Forbidden and the Fabulous The Ayatollah's Gaze A Memoir of the Forbidden and the Fabulous by Majid Parsa

Klaus Mattes | 4 comments Unfortunately, you don't speak German, so you couldn't share my delight in the late Berlin poet Detlev Meyer.
I found a website where you can both hear ten of his texts read and read the (German) texts: lyrikline.org
Search for "Detlev Meyer" there.
For those of you who might speak Russian, there are four Russian translations available.
About Meyer: He was a narcissist, loved classic German poetry and humor. The texts are easy to understand and have punch lines.
My recommendation: "Der Mann der Grachten“ (The Man of the Canals, that is: in Amsterdam)

„Korrekte Anmache“ is a good overview book to his poetical body of work. Männerschwarm Verlag Hamburg. 2004. 15,50 €. 70 p
