This is the Helpful Links topic. Here, we have a list of topics within this
group that might be useful for you to check out while attempting to fully
navigate the group. Everything is organized and neat, but this is just a
guideline should you need some further direction.

First and foremost, make sure you’ve read the About This Group topic. There, we explain exactly what the intent of this group is aside from the overarching term of “debating.” We are more focused on educating and providing useful information, but debating can be very helpful as well, allowing everyone to see one another’s viewpoints.

After that, you need to read the Rules topic. We are requiring that members sign after reading as acknowledgement and also as a statement that you understand the rules as well as proving that you intend to follow them. This leaves no room for “I didn’t know” or “I forgot” statements should something happen.

Keep an eye on the News & Priority folder, as it holds the Announcements and Current Events topics. Announcements are for the group with updates and changes, as with any group. Current Events is where we will be posting periodic updates about the United States of America and what is going on here. There will be links to our sources as well.

Make sure you say hi and introduce yourself as well in the Introductions topic! That’s where everyone will find a brief overview about you, which is very helpful in groups like this one.

The General & Commons folder has a chatting space and some lighthearted games, so check out that folder as a whole if you’re not up for debating.

Most importantly, head over to the Ask & Learn folder and check out the topics in there. As stated in the rules, we are not allowing the topics of human rights to be debated, but we are not censoring anyone, either. This folder has some sensitive and important topics that anyone is allowed to ask questions about and talk about in general, but they are not debates. We are not allowing open bigotry and hatred to be spread around the group in relation to ways that a person identifies, but should you hold opinions against those marginalized communities, we can discuss that respectfully with sources and facts.

Below that, you’ll see eight different folders with various debates. Those folders have a broad topic and the debates below fall under that umbrella. Seven are more serious and related to this world, but the eighth is for more casual, fun debating. We want you to be serious about learning and sharing your own knowledge, but it’s not fun for everything to be serious one-hundred percent of the time.
