I just finished "The Girl in the Middle" by Martha Sandweiss. It's nonfiction but totally relates to 19th Century history. More specifically, the federal Peace Commission chartered to work out treaties and agreements with Native American tribes. Heavily researched and well-written. Probably not for everyone, but the research was incredible. It really captured the flavor of the era. I left a review on my feed. If you're a western history buff I think you'd like it.

I've been reading some of Hank Mitchum's Stagecoach Station series. I like how he uses real world locations and events for so many of his stories. Does anyone else have an opinion on any of his books?
