Hmm 🤔 whenever I need a go to Author who never lets me down I can't go past the master Stephen King or Clive Barker. I find Clive Barker's imagination just blows me away. Whether it's Weaveworld or The Great and Secret Show I just adore the worlds and characters he creates and his overall scope. The Stand (uncut) I'm really looking forward to re-reading...So much to read! So little time! O the joys of wanting to read EVERYTHING!!!

Emi Porter | 93 comments see, ive only read one book by Clive Barker and that was Abarat 🤣 and loved it but then no third book yet 🤣🤣🤣
what ones would u recommend? I'm not a massive horror fan though... I'm such a fraidy-cat

Well...umm...let's see 🤔for a Fraidy cat 😂I'd recommend The Thief of Always. Very short, just over 200 pages with cool illustrations Clive did himself. It's a dark fairy tale of sorts. Certainly a Clive Barker book without the horror. I wouldn't recommend The Books of Blood volumes 1 to 6 then! 🤣 Imajica is my fave. It's a fatty at over 1000 pages. It's more apocalyptic, eerie, and magical. Even erotic at times. Not too horrific. But then again I'm not a Fraidy cat! 😂

I wouldn't exactly class Clive as a horror novelist - with the exception of The Books of Blood. I think his works are more fantastical. Do you have a fave genre? I'll look into opening some new threads. I've never done that before, but I've got some ideas 😊
