Oh I would absolutely be writing in my favorite genre - historical classic murder mysteries starring varied characters set an isolated country estate (or hunting lodge or island villa etc etc). Is the market saturated? Not to me
After the difficulty I had finding something for this year's adult friendship prompt that's what I'd love to write - something that gives adult friendships the focus that romance novels give to romantic relationships.
I would write about one of the many interesting historical women I have given talks on. Several of them don't have comprehensive biographies, just their own memoirs or short articles about them.
I've written and published two books. One was published by Margaret K. McElderry Books in 1984, Call the Darkness Down. It is what would now be called YA suspense; a story I had written years before interwoven with a loose version of my experiences at a small college in Wales. The other was self-published in 2016, How to Find Your Dream Dog, nonfiction, based on my 30+ years of experience as a professional dog trainer and behavior counsellor. I always expected to spend my life as a writer but the dogs claimed me instead. I think, as with my two previous books, an idea would just have to grab me and compel me to write another one.

I, too, struggled to find books I wanted to read that fit this topic. Do it, Marie!
