Good morning. I am new to goodreads and this forum. I am a retired Navy Chaplain, Life and Leadership Coach, training as a spiritual director, and an author.
I am working on a manuscript for Christian leaders in vocational ministry who seek to help others live purposeful, flourishing lives while maintaining their well-being. The book is built around a holistic soul-care framework, including Relational, Spiritual, Emotional, and Physical rhythms. The project is titled Leadership from Within: Navigating the Path Toward Soul-Driven Success. The book has five parts (Setting the Scene, and then the rhythms will form four different parts (each with three chapters discussing various aspects and practices related to the rhythm under review)), along with a concluding summary chapter and an appendix with a study/reflection guide for putting the rhythms into practice. The completed manuscript will be in the range of 45,000-50,000 words.
I am about 50% of the way through a rewrite of my first draft. I anticipate completing the second draft by late June or early July and am anticipating self-publishing the book in the fall (unless a traditional publisher swoops in!).
I am seeking five Christian leaders in vocational settings (church, nonprofit, chaplaincy) and informed laypeople who would be interested in serving as beta readers.
Ideally, I'd like men and women from across the age and experience spectrum. I will send a completed, signed copy of the book, along with a $25 Amazon gift card, to beta readers who can assist me in reviewing the entire book. Please respond via comment, and I will be in contact soon.
