My name is Douglas Emerson. I’m a consultant and coach specializing in project management and goal-setting. Over the years, I’ve helped people move from vague ambitions to clear, structured results.
My debut book, Start at the Finish: The Power of Reverse Planning, presents a simple but powerful system for achieving clarity, confidence, and consistent progress by planning backwards from your desired outcome.
I’d be happy to connect with fellow readers and authors here. If anyone is interested, I can share a free copy of the eBook in exchange for an honest review on Goodreads or Amazon.
Looking forward to learning from this community and joining the conversation!

Thank you for creating this fantastic space for authors and readers to connect.
For those of you looking to unearth a new sci-fi thriller, I'd like to offer my debut novella, The Sentinel Project, for your consideration.
It's a story built for readers who love a deep mystery, blending the high-stakes suspense of Michael Crichton with the mind-bending historical questions of Blake Crouch. At its heart is a single, compelling "what if": What if our most ancient myths are not just stories, but the operating manual for the most powerful technology in human history?
The novel follows a disgraced geneticist who discovers a 50,000-year-old message encoded in our "junk" DNA, throwing him into a race against a shadow organization to unlock the secrets of a forgotten global network powered by the Giza pyramids.
You can find it on Goodreads here: The Sentinel Project
Thank you for your time and for creating this space for discovery.

Synopsis of Malaria:
A decade after their paths diverged, the Foreign Nomad Posse—once a tight-knit group of international friends—reunites at the Nobody’s Inn Hotel in Bratislava to welcome the New Year. As a blizzard seals them inside, their long-awaited celebration quickly turns sinister when Sarah is discovered dead in a blood-soaked bed, having miscarried a child that few knew she was carrying. The shock of her death reverberates through the group, as old friendships fray under the weight of buried secrets.
The mystery deepens with the arrival of a cryptic Christmas card, suggesting a hidden witness and a nameless culprit. When its sender—a retired midwife with ties to the group—also turns up murdered, paranoia escalates. Local authorities arrest Ricardo, a member of the Posse, but Sarah’s best friend, Clive, instinctively feels something is amiss. Refusing to accept the official narrative, he teams up with Samuel Boško, an ex-cop trapped by the storm. Together, they embark on a perilous quest for the truth.
As Clive and Samuel dig into the tangled web of their friends’ lives, they uncover long-buried grudges, dark secrets, and the dangerous lies that threaten to unravel everything. Each clue reveals a deeper connection among the group and a motive that transcends mere friendship.
In this gripping, old-school murder mystery, Malaria explores the complexity of loyalty, the shadows of the past, and the lengths individuals will go to protect their own. With twists and turns that keep readers guessing until the final reveal, this atmospheric whodunit appeals to those who cherish classic murder puzzles infused with contemporary depth. Ultimately, the real question remains: Who among them is hiding more than just the truth?

That’s the world of my new novel Meaning-Keepers: The Speaking Silence — a story where translators and storytellers become civilization’s last bridge.
