JennH | 1297 comments Hi Charlotte! You've made great progress on your goal! I hope you've been enjoying your 2025 reads so far. What did you think of The Selection series? One of my goals is to read the last two books to finish the series this year. Happy reading!

Charlotte | 384 comments Hi JennH! Thanks so much! I've been trying to read a lot more and have more time to myself the last few months, and I have really been enjoying that! I haven't read this much in a loooong time! I love the Selection series, although book 4 and 5 are worse than the original trilogy (book 6 is good though!). When I first read the start of book 4 I wasn't even going to finish it, but I pushed through and it got better, and I ended up really liking it (I rated it 5). It will never be as good as the original trilogy though!

JennH | 1297 comments Yay for more time for yourself!

Thanks for the heads up for The Selection. I was hesitant after reading the summary for The Heir but I also just want to finish to series to check it off my list.

Charlotte | 384 comments Of course! I would still recommend to read it because it kinda wraps everything up and it gets good later on (in my opinion lol). I do know people who have read it and really hated it, so it is a hit and miss...

JennH | 1297 comments I hope you are enjoying lots of amazing books, Charlotte! I see you've been reading some Agatha Christie. I hope you enjoyed them. I'm a huge fan. I've been trying to read through all her books for an Agatha Christie challenge. Still working my way through Hercule Poirot.

Charlotte | 384 comments Thanks!
I am! That was the first time I read Agatha Christie, and I love her now! I got a few recommendations to try her books because I like mystery, so over a year ago I bought the three I read, but I didn't get to reading them until recently! I am so happy I did though! Then I found one more on Libby, but I think I will have to buy the rest eventually (I'm trying to get through all the books I own before I buy more books though).
Wow! All of her books?! That's a lot! You must really love her haha. How long has it taken you so far?

Yay, a new Agatha Christie fan! She's not known as the Queen of Crime or the Queen of Mystery for nothing! I started the challenge almost 2 years ago. It's been fun re-reading old favorites and new ones I hadn't read before. I think I have about a dozen or so to go.

Wow lol! It's crazy that you have dared to try and read all of her books! And 2 years is a long time! That takes a lot of commitment lol.

Yeah, I've been reading her on and off. I don't really want to binge them because there are so many other books out there that I want to read. Sooo I found my list of Agatha Christie books I have left to read, and oops, I have many more than a dozen to read. There are also a bunch of re-reads that I read long ago enough that I didn't feel it was fair to count towards the challenge. And I think Agatha Christie is worth the commitment. 😁

That's totally fair! I think only reading Agatha Christie would be a lot (even though she is amazing lol)!
She is definitely worth the commitment, you have given me some ideas and motivation with your amount of commitment to her!
I hope that you enjoy the rest of your Agatha Christie challenge! Good luck!!

I'm glad that you've gotten some ideas and motivation! And thank you. I think it'll be a bit easier once I'm finally finished with all the Hercule Poirot books — there's 39 of them, not including the short story collections!
