I enjoyed the new poems, Ruth. I also liked the art work you paired with them - it's great to see your art again.
I loved the imagery in Safekeeping, and Ode to Elena was wonderful. (As for the other one, I'm still pretending to be immortal, though I surely know differently).
Ruth, how I love to read your poems. You write about grief so beautifully. I feel how much you love your husband and it makes me feel warm inside. Thank you.
I need an Elena in my life. I can't seem to keep up with the housekeeping these days. She deserves a peom like this one. As for the painting, you do amazing things with water. The last line of "Safekeeping" is a touching image. And the woman in the painting is me and also many aging women who are alone - contemplative and enjoying life at a slower pace.
