Sam | 282 comments Any suggestions for August? No particular theme this month. just an open nominations. I'm adding this late so nominations will only run from 7/9/25 through 7/13/25 to give time for voting and book purchase for those joining.

Emmeline | 124 comments I nominate Paris Stories by Mavis Gallant, mainly because another group I'm in is reading that so two birds, one stone.

But also because Mavis Gallant is one of the best short story writers I've ever read. I read From the Fifteenth District a few summers ago and they were just incandescent.

WndyJW | 398 comments I just read “Speck’s Idea” and was so impressed with Gallant. She’s an intelligent writer.

Sam | 282 comments Thanks for your participation. I added another two choices to the great ones we already have and created a poll which will run through July 20. There is a bit of variety and hopefully a book you may want to read so please vote if you plan to join our group read.
