Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Hello

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Hi! Hope you’re doing well!

So tell me, what do you typically like to write and what formatting do you typically prefer? I myself usually like to write as one character instead of doubles because i always have trouble keeping things straight! I write fantasy, historical, apocalyptic and all such things so I’m pretty open to ideas! I can propose a few plot ideas if you don’t have anything you’ve been wanting to try. Would love to hear ideas though!

message 4: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments I'm doing well. Just got a lot going on, you?

I usually like to write in 3rd person, I'm happy doing singles, but I can do doubles as well, I understand why it don't work for some, I got so much in my head anyway, so it's fine lol. I have done most types of RPs, and I'm happy to hear what ideas you have, and what can be brain stormed

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Same here, lots happening!

How do you feel about a setting where two characters who accidentally get stuck in time and are now in an empty and motionless world where the rest of everything living seems to have moved on without them. The two characters find each other and then have to figure out what is going on. While doing this they find that monsters/cryptids inhabit these stuck moments in time and now they must find their way out of this mess and survive at the same time!

What are your thoughts? I have others, this was just the first one that came to mind.

message 6: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments To much happening lol

That's interesting. Certainly never done anything like that before. I've spent the last 2-3 hours looking at photos, so I guess at the moment that's kind of what it sounds like to me, people stuck in a photo like state, needing to survive

message 7: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Haha, that’s almost exactly it! I like that comparison! A moment lived out for a lifetime almost! So are you game? If so we can proceed to making characters!

message 8: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments I think it could be cool. Maybe like a shared memory between strangers, where they need to figure out how to unfreeze the time/get back to their own world.

Yee I'm down to make characters

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Name: Wes Drillman
Age: 22
Appearance: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/31/8e/65/31...

Background: Wes grew up in rural Iowa where his dad worked and owned a family farm that had been passed down for generations while his mom worked in town (if you can even call it a town) as a therapist running her own practice. Wes grew up playing sports and doing all things outdoors, camping, hiking and finding any excuse he could to sleep out under the stars. He did just fine in school and was well on his way to a bright beginning. Unfortunately in his senior year of college, his parents were hit by a drunk driver (at least that’s what the police report theorized) on the way back from a dinner and were killed. No one was ever able to find the other car or person, and it was a bit of a local mystery. Despite this tragedy, Wes pushed on, even getting into college where he went after graduating highschool and was now in his senior year well on his way to a double major in agriculture and Psychology. Wes enjoys country and rock music, playing guitar, doing anything in the woods, and spending time with his friends. He is a guarded individual but once you get to know him he just can’t help but be the friendliest guy you’ll know.

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Name: Olivia (Liv) Harries
Age: 21
Appearance: https://pin.it/546sMwqiF

Background: Olivia grew up with not feeling to comfortable in one place for to long before she had to pack her things and leave. Her mum adapted quickly by finding a job where she could work from home. Of course that meant she had a bit of a rougher time in school, she didn't stay long enough to form any proper relationships with people her age, and she had an extra hard time in school, as she didn't have a lot of time to settle in before moving again. As she reached her teenage years, she was already looking forward for when she would be old enough to move away. She put in the extra effort to succeed school. And when she got accepted into collage, she grabbed the first one that offered her a spot, and not long after she moved there, finally having a spot to put her things, or lack there off. She don't hate her parents, just hate the situation she was put in, and now she was doing what she could to create as many connections as possible, she just wants to live her life in the way she wasn't able to before.

Ill probably edit this at some point of I remember to, just added what I could think of in the moment

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Looks great, I like your character setup! I’m gonna base this setting in the Fall in Minnesota if it’s alright with you? I can start us off whenever if you like!

message 12: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Ahh cool. Also I don't know what fall in Minnesota is, but if you want to start, sure

message 13: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments ((Ok, just the season fall in the state of Minnesota))

It was a chilly October morning and campus was colored with red and yellow leaves that adorned the ground. Wes couldn’t quite see his breath but he could feel winter coming. He pulled his carhartt jacket closed and kept walking to class. He was on his way to the agriculture building for his 8 AM. It was a class about environmentally friendly planting methods. He pushed through the double doors and into the atrium of the ag building and headed for the stairs. His ear buds were playing a lazy rendition of whiskey river by Johnny bush and he was so wrapped up in the rhythm that he almost ran into another student at the top of the stairs. Apologizing he slipped by and into his classroom. The class was full with about 70 students and the buzz was barely audible over his music. He set his bag down and started pulling out his book but at that moment everyone went silent. He looked up. Then he blinked. In disbelief he rubbed his eyes. He couldn’t wrap his mind around what he was looking at. The classroom was completely devoid of all 70is inhabitants that had just been around him. What the hell was going on?

message 14: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments (Ohhh. Thanks for letting me know)

Olivia zipped up her jacket as the cold autumn breeze rolled by, she was hanging out with her friends in the courtyard, or at least, she called them friends, anyone that showed interest in hanging out with her since she had arrived to collage was enough for her to call a friend. She had a few minutes before her class would start. When she felt she had waited enough time, she got and said by to her friends as walked of to the business building. She had done so many school applications, that she didn't know what she had said yes to, but it turned out to be the business course. Was it something she was interested in? Not really, but she had to keep her grades up while her parents help her pay for the tuition, she did work for the local cafe part-time, which had become her study place. When she reached her economics class, which always made her head spin afterwards, she quietly snuck into the back, listening to the other students with an actual intrest in the course compare notes. When she saw Mr Smith walk in, she pulled up her notebook, and when she looked at him as she usually did, he had completely frozen, and as she scanned the room, so had everyone else. She looked to the person next to her, poking them without getting a reaction. Yeah this is beyond weird.

message 15: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments As Wes stalked through the classroom inspecting his classmates that now seemed to be statues, he noticed that everything had frozen perfectly. A girls hair was still floating mid air as if it was mid flip, a paper ball that was on its way to the trash can was still floating there mid flight, and the chalk cloud from the eraser that was being used to wipe the chalk board clean was thill there, no sign of dissipating at all. He walked over to the paper ball that was suspended in air and curiously reached out to touch it. As soon as he did, it fell to the ground, as if he had poked it and restored the laws of gravity to it. Trembling, he walked over to a classmate and reached out to give them a nudge. But this time, nothing happened. He tried again, but they remained rigidly frozen. He pushed them a little harder, and still yet, they remained completely in place. What in the world is going on, Wes wondered. Grabbing up his pack, he walked out of the classroom, only to be met with more statues. The silence in the building was deafening, and he was beginning to get a little freaked out. He quickly jumped down the stairs and ran out to the courtyard, only to find a world sized photograph around him, and he was the only one moving. This is bad, really bad. “HEY! IS ANYONE AROUND? PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A CRAZY JOKE!” He called out into the stillness.

message 16: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia grabbed her note book, surprised to find it not frozen, putting it back in her bag. Getting up from her seat, and putting her bag over her shoulder, she looked out over the scene in front of her. Unsure of what she could do, she left the classroom. Seeing the people statues in the hallway and even outside. The quiet was almost to eerie. As she walked, she could hear someone scream, at first it made her jump, but that meant she wasn't all alone. She started to hurry towards the scream, but stumped and fell over someones backpack. "Ow!" She let out as she hit the ground. Rolling over, so she was sitting on the ground. She looked at the backpack she had tripped over, annoyingly kicking it away. She looked up at the frozen body that had been reaching for the backpack. "Dickhead." She said, as if the guy could hear her. She got up from the ground and sighed as she was brushing dirt off her hands and pants, knowing she needed to find the person that screamed, if he wasn't already long gone.

message 17: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Wes’s mind was traveling a million miles a minute at this point. What did all of this mean? Was this the end of the world? Was he just in a weird nightmare? He started to walk further into the courtyard praying that this frozen scenery would change. “HEY! IS ANYONE OUT THERE?! PLEASE TELL ME IM NOT ALONE.” He called out into a terribly empty loneliness. Someone had to be around somewhere, he just needed to keep looking around. As he continued to survey the courtyard, he noticed that the temperature was still the same it had been, but there was no breeze whatsoever, not even a little bit of a whisp of air. Wes kept noting all of these abnormalities, stock piling them in his mind to piece together some kind of picture that he hoped would give answers as he pieced it together. But he was going to need more information before he was able to make sense of anything like this. He was becoming lost in thought when all of a sudden he thought he heard the almost close by falling of footsteps on concrete. He took a moment and listened closely, again, he swore he heard something. He stared intently down the sidewalk that made a turn just outside his view where he had thought he’d heard the steps from. Was he crazy, or was he truly not alone?

message 18: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia finished brushing of the dirt from herself, and looked around, still finding everything eerie. Why was everything frozen, except for her? She continued to walk, and as she rounded a corner, she stopped moving when she saw someone that didn't seem to be frozen like all the others. She looked at him, not sure if she had already gone crazy already and her mind already making up people moving. Could it be the person she heard shouting before? Or maybe she was just crazy. That wouldn't be the first time she thought that

message 19: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Wes gasped a sigh of relief when another person rounded the corner! Thank god! It was another living and breathing human being! “Hey! Oh my god, thank goodness you’re here!” He called out to her, quickly closing the distance between them so that he could talk to her. As he neared, he saw that she was a slight girl, maybe early or mid twenties with a pretty complexion and lean frame. What stood out most was her colorful hair, dyed a vibrant shade of blue which flowed onto a soft pink, which flowed over her shoulders in silky cascades. Her eyes matched the shade of blue in her hair, and they shined with what was obviously apprehension, clearly trying to work through the same mysteries as him. Wes had never met her before, that he was sure of, as he definitely wouldn’t forget a face like that. “Hey, this is crazy! Who are you, what is going on?? Oh, I’m Wes by the way, but tell me you know what’s happening right now.” He shot off his words rapid fire, barely able to get them out fast enough. He hoped this girl had answers because he sure as hell didn’t.

message 20: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia looked at the strange man in front of her as he closed their distance, not sure if she should run the other way or not, but maybe he knew something she didn't. And he didn't look all that harmful. His blonde short hair and blue eyes, gave her a feeling, or maybe she was just generalizing him, hoping she wouldn't end up dead or worse. As he asked his questions, she didn't have time to comprehend one until the next one came out, trying to figure out what to answer first as she realised he was just as clueless as she was with what has happened. "I... Um..." She started, not sure where to start. "Um I'm Olivia, and I don't know, I hoped you had a clue." She said

message 21: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Wes’s face fell with her response, as he realized that she didn’t know any more than he did. ‘Well, that sucks’ he thought to himself. He also realized that he may have overwhelmed Olivia a little bit with his barrage of questions. “Well, I guess we’re both clueless then, huh? But I will say, it is nice to meet you, Olivia, and I am very glad to see there is another person around here that isn’t frozen like a statue.” He said with a nervous smile, trying lamely to lighten the mood. “Well, what should we do? I’ve never seen anything like this in my life before. One minute I was sitting down in class getting ready for the lecture and the next thing I knew absolutely everything froze. It came out of nowhere. Did you see anything?” He asked, trying to sound a little more calm and collected so as to not overwhelm Olivia.

message 22: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia looked at him, and nodded a little a long as he spoke. It was nice to not be all alone, but why just them? Why were they the only people left unfrozen. It was weird. She looked at Wes as she tried to remember if she had seen anything like it before, she has lived pretty much all over the country, but she had never heard anything like this. "I don't know, I was pretty much in the same position." She said as she started to wonder, was the whole world frozen, or just this place? Was her parents okay? And what would happen when everyone woke up, or even if?

message 23: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Wes pondered their situation. He wasn’t exactly sure of what they should do, but he needed to think of something. “Hey, maybe we should walk around and see if there’s anyone else around here, maybe it’s not just us. Will you come with me? We can check the student union, it should be plenty busy! If there’s anyone unfrozen I bet you we’d find em there!” He said, glad that he had come up with some sort of a plan. They needed to get a clear picture of the scope of the issue that they were dealing with. He motioned for her to follow as he started off, nervous that they would just find more of the same.

message 24: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia nodded a little, hopefully he had a point. Hopefully if anyone else wasn't frozen, wouldn't the student union be the place for others to seek answers. Plus isnt that the point of the student union in the first place? Anyway sticking together was probably their best bet anyway, especially when both knew nothing of what was going on. "Yeah that sounds like a good idea, hopefully there is someone with answers." She said and turned on her heal and started to walk towards the student union building

message 25: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments The walk wasn’t long and so they made it there quick. Unfortunately, when they stepped through the doors what greeted them was more of the same. Students frozen in place, workers mid chore and not a single sound was coming from anywhere. Wes groaned in frustration, this confirmed for him what he had feared from the start. Everywhere in the world must be like this. “Olivia, I don’t-“ he was about to tell her that it was going to be alright but he was silenced by the clicking of something walking on linoleum floors, only, it sounded like a dog might sound, as if there were four footsteps instead of two. Something was horribly wrong, a chill went down his spine. Trusting his gut, he grabbed Olivia by the arm and pulled her down on top of him behind a booth. “Don’t make a sound.” He whispered as softly as he could. As quietly as he could, he raised his head to peek over the booth and what he saw almost made him yell. Prowling through the student union, clicking over the linoleum flooring was what he could only describe as a chupacabra.

message 26: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments As they reached student union, she let out a disposed sigh as she saw everyone there frozen. She looked over at the nearest body, as she curiously touched the person's face, it felt like the human squishyness, which she could decide if she hated or not. She looked over at Wes as he started to talk, but stopped himself, she could also hear the tapping from claws on the linoleum floor, the sound was that similar to a dog, yet off enough for her to know it wasn't a normal dog. As he pulled her down, she opened her mouth to protest, but when he told her to be quiet, she decided to trust him and keep shut. She could hear the taps move across the floor, and when she could, she took a peak as well. As she saw the beast, she covered her mouth as she sunk back down, terror in her eyes. What are they supposed to do now? If they try to sneak out, the beast will hear them open and close the thing would chasd them down, and probably win.and then what?

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Wes’s mind was running at a million miles a minute. How was he going to get them out of this? The steps didn’t stop and the beast was getting closer to their spot. He didn’t dare look over the booth now, as they were close enough to hear its breathing. He had one arm around Olivia, which wasn’t intentional but he definitely wasn’t going to let her go, and the other slipped into his pocket to grab his trusty pocket knife. It wasn’t much but it might be enough for Olivia to get away. Fortunately, the beast snorted and then turned away, walking deeper back into the Student union. “When I get up, follow me as quietly as you can. We are going to my apartment, it’s two blocks away from campus, we will be safe there I think. We need to regroup and we need to get something to protect ourselves.” He whispered in her ear, trying to be as silent as possible. And with that, he slowly rose up out of the booth with Olivia and headed for the door.

message 29: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia was so scared that she didnt even realise that his arm was around her. She was more worried about keeping her breathing under control and listen for the beast. She hears it's breathing, and was scared this would be it for them, and when it turned away, she felt relief wash over her. She glanced at Was as he whispered in her ear. She nodded to his idea. So when he got up, she followed after him, walked with him to the door, ready to get out of there, any place would be.

message 30: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Once they were through the door, Wes started to run. They had to make it out of here and who knew if there were more of those monsters around. Taking Olivia’s hand, he pulled her along at a rapid pace towards his apartment. His breathing quickened and his face flushed as they crossed a street into the neighborhoods adjacent to the school. He could see is apartment building coming up and they were only a hundred yards away from it when he heard a blood curdling screech. About 300 yards behind them one of the monsters stepped out onto the street and was now in pursuit of them, and it was gaining fast. Wes tightened his grip on Olivia’s hand and poured on the speed, they had to make it! As they were nearing the door, Wes pulled his access card from his pocket and got ready to scan it. As soon as they got to the door he swiped his card and almost yelled in relief as it blinked green and unlocked, as the beast was a mere 40 yds away. He ripped the door open and pushed Olivia inside, slamming it closed just in time as the abomination swiped for him. His eyes were wide and he was shaking all over as he stared face to face with the monster through the glass.

message 31: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Oliva ran with Was, mostly because he was holding on to her, and hopefully they will not run for too long. But she also didn't know how far away from campus he really lived. She quickly could feel her limit slowly being reached as her breath quicken, and she could feel the seweartbeeds from on her forehead, she was quickly gwttubf tired. As the screech rang through the somewhat familiar neighbourhood, she could feel the adrenaline spike through as her once tired legs got that extra kick so somewhat keep up with Wes as he speed up. As they just barely made it inside, she felt how the strength in her legs were failing after pushing herself to far. She fell to her knees, with him holding onto her hand, she couldn't go much further down. Her breath so quickly, she barely had time to grab new air before it was out ger lungs again. And her heart beating so fast, she could hear the banging in her ears, and trying to escape through her chest. She was so tired, that she barely could find the energy to look at the beast in front of them

message 32: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments The monster screeched again and glared through the glass, positively pissed off that his prey had escaped it. Fortunately the apartment had plexiglass on the doors and the windows had decorative iron bars so he wasn’t worried the beast would get in to the apartment building. It looked like it was very much built for speed and not terribly strong. Tearing his eyes from the creature, he turned to Olivia who was still on the floor and knelt to examine her. She was breathing heavy but overall all seemed ok. “Here, let’s get you upstairs and away from that thing, we we’ll be safer in the apartment, there you can lay down if you like.” He said to Olivia, slowly helping her to her feet and tapping the elevator button. He waiting patiently with her for the elevator to come down and kept a wary eye on the door where the beast was now padding back and forth on the concrete. It was completely ignoring a person who was frozen on the sidewalk, which Wes noted as strange. When the elevator doors opened, they had to crowd to one side in the elevator as there were two people frozen in it as well. Once they made it to his floor, he lead the way to his apartment and unlocked the door to his cozy one bedroom space. “Home, sweet home.” He said emptily, still thinking on the near death experience they just had.

message 33: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia looked at him as he knelt down. She knew she was fine, she just wasn't used to all that running, which made her not feel fine. She nodded a little to what he said. Staying there to tease the monster properly wouldn't be their greatest idea to be teasing the pray by just hanging out by the window, having it look at them like some sort of zoo. She got an extra grip on him as he helped her up, her legs feeling weak from the running. Her breathing was slowly returning to normal as she waited for the elevator. As the doors open and they had to crowed to one side, she did feel a bit annoyed, but at the same time, these people didn't plan on getting frozen. She started to wonder if there was a way to move them. When they reached his floor she walked out, and followed him inside his apartment. Looking around a little. "It looks just like my friends place... Well more or less." She said, which wouldn't be weird, the apartments there most likely got the same layout, the only difference was the future and probably wallpapers and things on the walls

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments “Please, make yourself at home, there’s water in the fridge and food in the cabinet. I’m gonna get us some lunch started in a second. We should eat and then plan out what we are gonna do.” Wes said to Olivia. Now that he was getting a closer look at her he could see the worry evident on her face and could guess that she probably felt similarly about their situation as he did. He hated that she was feeling that way and so he did his best to put on a brave smile and decided that as he got the lunch stuff ready he would try and take her mind off of things by distracting her. “So, I know we’re basically strangers, why don’t you tell me just a little about yourself, I’d like to get to know the only other moving person on earth.” He joked, giving her a smile while he pulled out some peanut butter and jelly to make some sandwiches.

message 35: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia looked over at him and nodded a little. "Thanks." She said, being quite used to having to get comfortable in strange places. She took a quick glance at him, she did wonder how long she would have to be stuck in his place, especially with those monsters around. It's not like she had a spear change of clothes with her. She looked over at him as he spoke to her, a small smile forming on her lips as his joke. "Well I guess I've always been a person on the move. Don't think I've been in a place for longer then a year." She said and shrugged, watching as he was preparing the sandwiches for them

message 36: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments “Oh you moved around a lot? That’s gotta be tough, always adapting, never settled.” He replied. “I’ve mostly lived in the same spot, my dad was in the military but got out just before I was born. Grew up at my family’s house in Montana and was always outside doing stuff. My dad taught me all about hunting and stuff.” Wes added. Thinking about that made him remember something important. “Hey! I have a high frquency radio! We should check it for any emergency messages! Maybe someone put something out when everything froze!” He exclaimed, excited to have an idea that might get them more information. He finished the sandwiches and gave her a plate, then went over to his desk and grabbed his radio setup, plugging everything in and setting up his antenna. Please for the love of god let something be in here.

message 37: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia nodded when he pointed out her moving a lot. She listened as he told her how he had spent his whole life in one place, and she wished she had that opportunity, maybe her and her parents would have a diffrent relationship, or maybe she would have grown up with actual friends. As he mentioned the radio, she looked at him, and perked up a bit. She grabbed the plate, he handed her, and she followed him to his desk and watched as he set it all up, praying they weren't the only people with a radio, or frozen. Hoping they could get in contact with anyone that had any knowledge that could be useful for them. She stood behind him as she watched the radio, not really knowing how it worked, but hope anyone would be on the other side

message 38: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Once he got the system turned on he plugged in the local frequency and listened. There was nothing but static over the line and as he called out over the radio to see if anyone would respond, he got nothing. He flipped through a few more frequencies but was greeted with the same dull static, the muffling noise slowly smothering their hope. Finally with a growl of frustration, he plugged in the national emergency frequency. This time, as soon as he flipped onto the freq, his radio blared to life with the sound of an SOS tone and they a female voice rang out in desperation. “PLEASE, LISTEN! THIS IS AN EMERGENCY SOS. OUR LAB AT AREA 51 IS SUFFERING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. WE WERE BUILDING A MACHINE TO MEASURE TIME IN QUANTUM PARTICALS AS A PART OF STRING THEORY RESEARCH AND IT JUST WENT HAYWIRE. WE DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENS BUT WE CANT SHUT IT OFF, PLEASE, YOU NEED TO-“ and all of a sudden the transmission stopped. Then the alarm blared again and the same message repeated. It was an emergency recording. Wes just stared at the radio, his jaw open, in sheer disbelief. “Did… did I just hear that right?” He mumbled, talking to no one in particular.

message 39: by Lou (new)

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia watched as he plugged into the radio and call out to the diffrent frequencies. As he flipped through the frequencies, she had finished her sandwich and looked around the room at the things he had, not really wanting to leave in case he found something. She sighed feeling like they were probably the only two people left at the moment. As he swapped to the national emergency, she was still juet looking at his stuff. She looked over when she heard the sos signal, and as a person started to talk, her eyes widen and she hurried over to him to listen. Of course it had to cut off at the most important part. She looked over at him. Both of them are probably just as hooked there was something, even if it was a recording. "Now what?" She asked

message 40: by Mac (new)

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Wes sat for a moment, puzzling the issue out in his mind. Something bad had happened in a secret lab all the way out in Area 51, something that seemed definitely related to their current predicament. It sounds like the people were having trouble shutting this thing off, so maybe that’s what needed to happen? “Olivia, I might be crazy, but I think we need to go find this place and try and shut off this machine, whatever it is.” He replied to her. I mean, what else could they possibly have to do? What else could they do? Right now this was their only glimmer of hope. “In order to do that, we are going to have to have to take a road trip across a country that may very well be full of those… things…. That we ran into, he added.” The reality of the situation sounding somewhat bleak when he spoke it aloud. Wes had a plan, and he was pretty sure they could make the trip there, but once they made it, how would they break into this lab inside a top secret government facility, and how would they figure out this machine that might be causing the frozen people problem?

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia listened as he explained what he got from the whole thing. She had one question remaining in her head. Why them? "So, we are going to a top secret base, in the middle off nowhere, to shut off a machine we don't know how to use, let alone how to find." She summerised as she thought of the whole thing. It's crazy, it all sounded to crazy. But also so did them being the only two people in the whole world left not frozen. "I guess we are going on a road trip. Do you know how to drive?" She asked. They had to figure out how to get there, but they also would probably need more clothes, and food. Do food expire if time is frozen? They had a lot to figure out.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments As she said all of it out loud, it did sound pretty impossible, and even a little ridiculous, but what else were they going to do? He couldn’t think of anything else that made even a little bit of sense with the absolutely unreal situation they were in, so maybe they needed unorthodox solutions? Then he turned his attention to her next questions. “Yes, I can drive, and I’ve got a truck as well, so that won’t be a big problem for us, and as far as food goes we can always eat canned and non perishables and see what happens to regular food as we go. I’m more so worried about these beasts and how we will defend ourselves. I own two guns but I’m not sure if they will be super effective against these beasts.” He mused, trying to imagine a way to keep them safe. He glanced at her trying to guage where her mind was at with this whole thing and what she thought about this impending road trip.

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia nodded a little. "At least you are more prepared then me." She said like it was a joke, but it was true, he had both a vehicle and weapons, that's more then she had. She listened to his thought process for the food, and she did agree with him, as she was more worried about those monsters, then food, but the food situation was more of a funny thought more then anything. "I guess there is only one way to find how effective they are." She said, and looked at him, she knew this road trip would either pay of, or be a huge waste of time. But with everything frozen, then maybe time wasn't really an issue, she wasn't sure about that. But she knew the more she thought about the frozen people, the more questions erupted in her mind

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments “Yeah, I guess so.” Wes replied. Well, if they were gonna do this, he’d better get packing, he decided. Then he realized that he did not have any female clothing to give to Olivia, he just had old shirts and sweatshirts. “Oh shoot, I didn’t realize, what should we do about your clothes? Do you live close by? Worst comes to worst we could always just swing by a mall and get you anything you wanted.” He joked, finding the thought amusing. He started running through a list of things that would be useful for them and tried to imagine how much of it they would need to do an envelope for while on the road. Realistically, they could grab stuff from anywhere. He was starting to really like the plan and best yet, it gave them something to do rather than just sit around waiting for something to change.

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia thought a little as Wes pointed out he didn't have any female clothes. "I love fairly close to the school. You can drive there when you are done." She said as she watched him pack his things, making her own mental note about what she would need to bring with her. Not wanting to bring to much things, but not wanting enough. He was right, if something was missing, it wouldn't be hard to replace anyway

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments Wes nodded and kept throwing things in his duffle, he packed plenty of clothes and a hygiene kit, plus a few other quality of life enhancers. He also grabbed his hiking pack with his sleeping g back, camp cook kit, some MRE’s, wet weather gear, a tarp, a fire starter and various other supplies he often used on camping trips. These would all serve him well. Finally, he grabbed his rifle and a handgun, with all of the mags and ammunition he had. He loaded his rifle and then packed the extra ammunition away in his pack. He then took the pistol and went over to Olivia “Have you ever used a handgun or shot one before? Do you want to carry a gun or would you rather not?” He asked carefully. He knew some people had very strong opinions about guns, and he didn’t want to make his new companion uncomfortable, even though he himself was perfectly comfortable with firearms and very proficient from his dad who taught him to shoot.

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia watched him as he packed his thing, in a way she was a bit impressed as she saw all the camping gear, as that was stuff she'd never would have thought of to get herself. She looked at him as he brought out the weapons and everything that belonged to it. She looked at the handgun as he walked over to her with it. She shook her head. "I haven't used one before." She said, knowing with the world riddled of monsters, it's safer for her to have one, then to not. As she had always felt her parents cared more about their work, she had to sort a lot of things out on her own, and a gun.

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments “No problem, I’ll help you out. If you don’t mind me teaching you a few things before we roll out of here! Just the basics!” He said, excited to teach her. Wes really loved teaching people his hobbies, it was just one of those things that got him really excited. He dropped the magazine on the handgun and cleared it to make sure there were no rounds in the chamber. Then he handed it to her and walked around behind her. Once he had a good grip on the handgun he showed her where her hands went, getting her thumbs high on the frame of the pistol. Next he showed her how to lock out her wrists in order to create a stable shooting platform. Finally, he showed her the appropriate stance, guiding her body into the appropriate positions with his hands. Olivia seemed to be a bit of a natural, as she received the Instruction well and implemented his tips as he gave them. Once he’d ironed out her grip, stance and the concept of a slow, smooth trigger squeeze, he showed her the proper ways to load a magazine, chamber a round and operate the weapon as a whole. “And there you have it, that should be plenty enough to get you started! Oh, almost forgot!” He grabbed the holster for the weapon and a belt, the threaded it through her belt loops, then putting the holster on her belt. “Now you have a place to carry it as well.” He said, pleased with his instruction.

Lou (louiseem) | 13668 comments Olivia nodded. "Go ahead." She said, knowing she was beter off with having the help to learn rather then trying to figure things out. In her mind a gun would judt be point and shot, but she could probably quess it wasn't that simple. She took the gun, and glanced at him as he walked behind her, before looking back at the gun again. She followed his instructions as he showed her. Looking down at her legs as he showed her how to stand properly. Doing her best to mentally note all the things, and his tips. As they finished, she looked over at him as he grabbed the holster and put it on her. She nodded a little she looked at him and smiled a little. "So that's all I need for now then?" She asked him

Mac K (mac_k99) | 1741 comments “Yup! You’re a regular gunfighter, Tex! And a cut one at that!” Wes replied giving her a wink, trying to lighten the mood a bit. They were pretty much ready to roll, his car was parked on the street, just outside the building so all that was left was to make it there. Of course, there was the small matter of a raging beast in between them and the car. But they had a solution for that now. He gathered his duffle, pack and rifle, and gave Olivia the nod, it was time to go. He led the way out of his apartment and into the hall, then taking the elevator to the main level. When they arrived in the lobby, there was no sign of a beast outside and everything was dead quiet. Wes frowned, as he didn’t like no knowing where those… things went. He carefully stepped. To the door and peered out to the street, his car only 20 yards away in front of him. “What do you think?” He asked, consulting Olivia.
