I read this a little while back, and probably won't re-read it, but I remember thinking it was okay, but I didn't feel fully invested in the characters enough to continue the series.
I found the series a bit slow at first, with writing that felt a little too formal-though that fits the fea world. it didn't really start to pick up for me until The Queen of Nothing, while it's not my favorite overall, I'm glad I stuck with it to the end.
I almost gave up on the first book, because it took awhile for the plot to develop. More towards the end of the first book and the last two books, I really enjoyed it. Absolutely loved the plot twists, the world build is great. It is definitely one of my top recommendations for YA.
I’m around 50% through. It’s a little slow but I feel like this is gonna be one of those series where the first book is a lot of plot building. I’ll be sticking to it because I’ve heard a lot of people recommend this series!
I actually read it the first time and I thought it to be boring but my fav tt creator posted a video going through the book I thought I would try and read it again haven't started it so I guess this is a before reading.
I liked the book, but I definitely started getting more interested in this series at the start of Queen of Nothing. So it felt like the best book in the series was Queen of Nothing, and the first two books were kinda slow, so it was like they were just slowly building up to the third book.I really dont think this makes sense, but yeah...
I loved the Queen of Nothing, the thing with first books of the seires, they're mostly meant for world building etc
I was really excited about The Cruel Prince before I started reading. When I finished it, I just felt okay about it, not really excited for book 2. I also didn't really hate it either. I don't think I'd read it again. For me, it was just okay.
I love the cruel prince but I was about halfway through the second book and the series but I’m so bored tbh

I kind of expected it to be a bit more interesting or something though I really liked the ending
I'm actually reading it for the first time idk what to expect (just started) i hope I'll have a good time and enjoy

I am excited that you are reading it the first time! According to everyone else, the series gets even better as you go along!

I was looking for something to read. I am gonna give this a try and hope that I like it. Thank you everyone who commented. Now I know what to except a bit.
I'm reading it for the 1st time and i really love Jude's heroic attitude. I'm really excited to keep going.
this series is in my big three i love it so so much . the first FMC I've read about that actually wants respect and power from the start and not forced into it.

Rereading The Cruel Prince this year I understand why some people dislike the first book but I do think the second and third book are very much worth reading.*SPOILER? I don't know if this is a spoiler but ok.
I really like that Jude as the FMC relies on her intelligence and her strenghts as a mortal instead of gaining some enormous fairy power or magic or whatever.
