I did just buy a book from Cheltenham Rare Books (yes, Len, I CAVED!), but it was £15 and rare enough to pounce. I usually am a, "Ooh, a POUND?!" sort of shopper. ;)
My point is that, with the internet being so useful, would I actually find something (and at a good price) at such an event?
Anyone have any experience in such sales?

I used to go regularly to the PBFA (Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association, I think that was the name) bookfairs when they were held in Liverpool. Always enjoyable and fascinating - and very tempting. Enjoy your ratty tale, Cap.
Thanks, Len! :) It does sounds intriguing, and at 2 quid for an entry fee, cheap entertainment also.
Just looking at the catalogue shown wasn't very tempting, though obviously those are just select items - they'd have to flesh out the stalls, surely!
I just saw that there's a free shuttle bus from the station, which makes it all the more tempting... It is a PBFA one too, yes!

Never having heard of such an event, I'm not really sure if it's something a casual purchaser of (usually affordable or dirt cheap) vintage children's lit would find useful? I was just looking at some bookshops in York (charity ones, mostly), and saw the advert. Any thoughts? Would I find some cheap paperbacks for under say £3? Or is this an event best left to those with deeper pockets and more expensive tastes?
(Would I be better off just staying in the city centre and browsing, which is what I was planning on doing in fhe first instance...)!
