Kikki (kikki-not-kiki) Fairy-Tale Curse {An Advanced Roleplay} (might change the title could totes use help with ideas for a new one)

When one thinks of fairy-tales, what comes to mind is most likely stories of moral lessening. Where the good triumphs over the bad every time and the prince gets the princess or the damsel in distress is saved....

Good triumphed over evil. The villains lost to the princes and the daring knights, and the quick wit of those with their friends ended reigns of tyranny. This was the theme of all fairy-tales. Good will always win, and evil will always lose.

Until now. The villains are tired of the fairy-tales ending in happily ever after for everyone but them. With the Horned King at the helm, Villains from all corners of Grimm, the world in which these fairy-tales exist, gathered to his castle and all poured their knowledge and magic into a curse, a curse so powerful they nearly killed themselves creating it. This curse spread out across Grimm and 'infected' every single child of the original fairy tale holders and all the children they or their descendants would have after, and at first, it seemed all would be doomed to fall as each curse fitted into their story in a way that the good guys were doomed to die from their curse and leave the villains to reshape their world.

But the wishes from the originals was heard. The Fairies of the realm, who have often interfered in stories as fairy godmothers and the like, banded together from all over the realm. While they were unable to remove the curse, they were able to change it and give the descendants the ability to break their curse and, pouring their magic together, they gifted the descendants with a magical power that would, hopefully, help them in either figuring out how to do so, or protect them from the villains who might try to stop them.

You are a descendant of one of these fairy tale characters. You have been sent here to Salkire Castle to break your curse. If you cannot figure out how to break your curse by the time you turn 21, you will die.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) That idea is so good! Fairytale groups are awesome xD

Royalty of a Fashion (An Advanced Roleplay)
description

Fashion. It's the staple of nearly every girls world. It's their form of establishing status. Those girls with the designer brands are the popular girls, high street clothing are normal girls and those with little money and shop from supermarkets and charity shops are the victims of cruelty. It's just the way the world works.

description

But what if fashion meant more than that? Here fashion is what determines your whole life style. It means more than just school cliques or best dressed. It determines everything. If you dress well despite your means you can move up the ranks. The richest girls can afford designer brands and so are the royalty of this world. The girls who shop from the high street are your upper and middle classes and those who can only afford to buy second hand clothes are the lowest class. But all girls start from the same place. Children are given too orphanages to take care of and then to school. They are all given the same opportunities and what they do with them determines their class. Each female is given a set of clothes upon their graduation and it's what they do with that set of clothes that determines their place in life.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) This is the plot for a group im working on literally right now xD tell me what you think :)

Welcome to WonderNeverLand, where things aren't what they seem. The Queen of Hearts and Captain Hook were defeated long ago, banished to a land outside of the Enchanted Forest. But it turns out they are not the ones to fear. Alice and Peter Pan have joined forces; a force of evil. They are keeping boys and girls between the ages of twelve and nineteen; holding them hostage. You can't leave, Pan's Shadow won't let you. It's a new life; a dark life, at WonderNeverLand. Will you survive?

Dear Solider (An Advanced Roleplay)

description
"It's 1941 and the world is in chaos. Hitler is gaining power overseas and the whole world is being turned upside down. London is bombed and peoples homes are being destroyed. In the middle of all this our men dying trying to free the world from evil. So why does everything feel so right? It should feel wrong."

description

The locals of a small street in London have decided to set up a charity dedicated to helping those fighting for their lives on the front lines. Part of this service is a letter exchange programme for those who have no family. The idea was to boost soldiers morale. It wasn't to fall in love but when your pouring your whole heart out. It's difficult not to fall in love. Many shotgun weddings have occurred due to people being scared about the future but this programme seems to be promoting true love or at least a version of marriages that aren't going to fall about as soon as war's over.

message 8: by Hayley (new)

Hayley | 39 comments Okay thank you for your opinions :) I prefer the ww2 idea but I agree that time periods can be tricky as someone won't know about it and I just really want an active group.....

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) what do you think of my idea above? im in the middle of making it

message 10: by Hayley (new)

Hayley | 39 comments I like it and it's inventive but fairytale groups always get a little iffy as people eventually fall inactive. I don't know why but in my experience fairytale groups seem to fall inactive before most other types of groups... So be careful of that.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) Okay, there isn't actually fairytale characters to claim there's only a couple but that's because they come from that film. Apart from that they are all ordinary people so hopefully it stays more active.

PSA: Don't make a historical group unless you actually have sufficient knowledge on the time. They require care, and research, and more care, and more research. History isn't yours to make it however you want... it's already done.

Not directed to anyone in particular; just in general.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) What would you all think of a Hollywood rp ?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

My perception of those is always gonna be skewed bc I live in that area and stuff, but go for it if you want.

P A N ( is back ) (millieevemarie) im not sure, my groups are failing lately and idk what ones would stay active

ali ᵏᵉᵉᵖ ʸᵒᵘʳ ᵐᵒᵘᵗʰ ˢʰᵘᵗ (time_wont_fly) | 5 comments inspo taken from the RPG Horror game Dreaming Mary. VERY loosely based on this.

The brightest thing in the hospital room was the light. Everything- or everyone- else had taken an almost grayish aurora. The little girl who lay nearly motionless on the bed breathed lightly, her blonde hair tucked neatly under her. She looked almost asleep; if it weren't for the constant beep of the monitor one would have suspected her to be perfectly fine.
The family was hunced over, all worried eyes placed on the girl at the center. A few tired lids drooped, the only sound being constant of the monitor.
Until she scrieked. The little girl began trashing, kicking at the sheets, a wail escaping from her lips. The family lurched forward, a few pushing out of their seats. The beeping rose, however the sounds was barely heard over the girls trashing.
Then, silence. She settled back down, her breathing returning to normal. Her hair was splayed in all different directions, her hospital gown turned almost all the way around.
"Whatever it is, she sure is fighting a war in there."

message 30: by Kikki (last edited Apr 13, 2015 09:14PM) (new)

Kikki (kikki-not-kiki) 12 kingdoms. 12 animals of the zodiac. 12 different places divided by personality, talents and birth. The world has been ruled by the stars for a long time now. Or to be more precise, by the beings within the stars. There are 12 animal 'gods' that have ruled over the kingdoms for many years now. While at first, they ruled over them jointly and anyone was allowed to travel anywhere, conflict arose in who was the official head or most powerful of the others, and this conflict led to a tearing apart. The kingdoms and the 12 animals separated from one another, and only spoke to or otherwise communicated when it was needed. Though the trade that went from one kingdom to another did not stop, there was no longer any friendliness involved, and those from other kingdoms had to deliver the goods before entering a new kingdom to avoid 'their secrets being found out and exploited in war'.

Enter into this the people. They only vaguely know of how things are above them from the way the stars flash and dance and that the kingdoms no longer commune as freely as their great-great-great grandparents parents said it used to be like. There are new rules in place for when woman are pregnant. They are sent to the 'capital' of the country, the place where all the kingdoms touch, and after they give birth, depending on what kingdom they are from and what animal the child is under, the children are 'corrected' and switched so that there are no children of other kingdoms going back with them. This has been a rule long for long enough that the mothers cannot complain, it is not as though anyone who gives birth will leave without a child unless there is a complication anyways, regardless of its theirs or not at least they still have someone to love and raise.

Each year that passes drives the wedge deeper between the gods, and it is starting to affect the land itself with horrible droughts, floods and earthquakes that terrorize the people they are supposed to protect. Desperate to restore peace, the god who had chosen the other animals went to one who should have beem but never was added to the zodiac; the Cat. The Cat is the only one able to unite the animals again despite being absent from the feast due to Rat's trickery. But, when the other animals in the stars heard of this, they grew angry and a huge fight broke out. Cat tried to intervene and the god who chose the animals sent them to earth to teach them a lesson, placing each god in a child that had just been born in the center to show them how wrong they were for doing what they did, and sent Cat down as well to keep an eye on things.

((Probably not the best description but I really like the idea of the chinese zodiac inspiring the group and everything and it will give a better chance at having more POC FC's too since the region will be (obviously) inspired by China(likely a pre-modern day China)
Inspired by the legend that spoke of the animals being chosen by god in return for attending a feast with him. In the legend, it says Cat was tricked by Rat into thinking the feast was the next day and missed it, thus why he's not a member of the zodiac))

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

how much knowledge do you have about chinese culture?

idk. it seems very fruits basket to me, which isn't a bad thing, but i'm not sure how this would work out as a roleplay as opposed to, say, a story. it seems like it just would revolve around 13 main characters? like, how do you plan to incorporate more characters?

message 32: by Kikki (new)

Kikki (kikki-not-kiki) I actually know a fair amount about the chinese culture, and I still have several websites bookmarked from when I had to do research on it in the past, as well as having people(ie- an old history teacher who taught a lot of chinese history) to go to if I have questions. I would be careful to respect the chinese culture while adding my own elements as it will not be exactly the same, merely modeled after china.

I was actually contemplating adding some elements of the western zodiac into it as well, mostly by having the days affecting if the kids get switched around, since it wouldn't happen very often to have kids being switched on year alone. I figure it should be alright since its inspired not taken word for word, what do you think?

Fruits Basket?? *googles it* I was actually slightly inspired from Eon with the ruling animals and how each one chose a kid/adult to channel their powers through, though I can kinda sorta see how you would make the similarity through the people in that manga being able to turn into the animals cause of a curse or something?

Well, to be truthful while there will be some 'main characters' that will need to be claimed and an eventual plot to accomplish, I planned on not letting it revolve entirely around just the 13. They are being sent there to learn of the world and what they have been doing to it in their unnecessary hatred of each other, but that doesn't mean they will be the only important ones. There will be a side plot involving other high ranking people in the kingdoms who are trying to figure out what is causing all these disasters and how they might prepare or stop them, and people who will rebel against being stuck in one kingdom, or giving birth in the 'capital' where they might end up with a kid not of their blood because of when they are born and so on. I don't really plan on having the 'main characters' take up a majority of the plot, as for a while they won't even be able to affect anything like they were able to before, at least not until later on in the plot when they start to truly realize and understand what they have done to the world they're supposed to be watching over.

Did that make sense?

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

mmmm okay. but keep in mind that you'll need to make the culture easy for others to adapt to, yeah? because most people are familiar mainly because most of us as westerners are familiar with western culture for the most part. i'd encourage making a sort of crash-course guide, or even making it a fusion of cultures could be fun in an au (think san fransokyo from big hero 6).

mmm, i think adding the other zodiac would just kind of make it confusing? i mean it's up to you, but in some ways i think it might overcomplicate things and while you could change it, it doesn't really seem to fit in with the plot you're thinking of?

okay. i think that could work but i would recommend making it one claim tops per person, though of course that's your choice to make.

message 34: by Kikki (new)

Kikki (kikki-not-kiki) A fusion of cultures could def be fun, and I think a crash course guide is a good idea too (can't expect everyone to know everything haha). I'm gonna keep it relatively simple too since throwing a ton of info at people on how things are doesn't work as most people skim that kinda thing lol.

Like, I don't plan on adding the entire zodiac, just the idea of the days coinciding with which animal. For example, if someone was born on say idk December 31st, they would be in the kingdom of the Pig (who was the last to arrive and is the last on the zodiac.) Or if someone was born January 13th, they would be in the rat kingdom. Does that make sense?

I definitely agree. I want to make sure everyone has a chance to claim something, and one each is the best way to ensure that.

yeah?
much of the popular creatures are horrifying to those unfamiliar
like
tall dark-skinned demons who live in trees who enchant people to get lost
half-bodied females with bat-wings who prey on children
that horse that stands upright who's actually an aborted baby
a changeling that looks like a baby that preys on whoever picks it up

although there are those familiar ones (witches, nymphs, etc) that are still somewhat popular but philippines just have different names for them to dick around. and let's not forget the ghosts

and finallyy, someone who's up with a revised remake of my wonderland group
like
it's been in my head since december 2014
i just dunno if someone would agree with it
