Read a good science-fiction book lately?

Hello to you all

There are plenty of science-fiction books put on the market through a tap at full throttle.
Dragons, princesses, princes, swords, the dark, the shadow, the vampire, the girl/boy-oh-so-special-with-very-long-eye-lashes, I can’t stand it anymore.

Have the authors so little imagination? Or are the editors the guilty ones for selecting again and again and again the same stories? Are they written by computers?

If one wants a classic theme, why not go to Jane? Abandoned by family in the jungle, raised by panthers, feline willowy figure, pally (very) with the queen of Akatabata, fighting the crocodiles, dancing by the full moon around the lake with possibility of transspecies homosexuality. I mean panthers, with their rough tongues and soft paws, eh? Plus that would do for diversity.

Should be great on screen as well.

Or humanity sent arks among the stars at sub light speed sprouting colonies hither and thither. Every 150 years or so the colony is revisited but this one is not answering and very little electromagnetic activity is visible; it stopped 50 years ago.

That is because the women discovered parthenogenesis, bumped off all the men and lived peacefully ever after.

Of course, Jane (see above) or her alter ego is sent to investigate. Great on screen too provided the actresses are ballet dancers.

Have a nice day
