emerson ᯓ✦ (delfiore) | 5 comments Hello everyone! My name is Emerson and I'm super new to goodreads. I'm looking to expand my repertoire of books beyond poetry and classics into queer lit and queer history, primarily. I was an avid reader for many years and it fell by the wayside due to university and demanding work, but I'm all about building healthy habits lately and I've been getting well into reading again.

I'm looking for friends that are queer and like reading queer books! Nice to meet everyone!

Richard Derus (expendablemudge) | 59 comments I don't think a lot of y'all will read a gay man's memoir of life under the theocracy in Iran. You should, because it's where this fascist nightmare in the US is headed unless you resist it. This sounds like an incredibly valuable perspective on a poorly studied and generally underrepresented demographic identity. I have done sparse amounts of research on queerness in Islamic societies in school, and this memoir promises to offer truly invaluable insight into the lives of queer Iranians. Thank you for the recommendation, I look forward to reading this.

Hi, Emerson. I'd be interest in knowing your thoughts on this memoir. Thank you for publicise this memoir, Richard. I also gave it 3 stars and would highly recommend to people interested in the subject without the most horrifying accounts of the regime.

I have added it to my list and I will keep you updated. Sounds absolutely gripping 🌹
