I loved the Scottish traditional aspects of the book especially being Scottish it holds a place in my heart ❤️ I loved the mystery and magic behind it.
I like the whole Doon idea and the story behind it but the writing wasn't the greatest and the characters were okay. I might continue with the series because the ending was kind of messed up.
I really enjoyed this book. I was however, somewhat bothered by the constant references to other books, literature and plays.
Also, Jamie reminded me so much of Jace Lightwood from the Mortal Instruments- the only difference is that he has a scottish accent and has Edward Cullen stalker tendencies. Anyone agree?

It was one of those reads that was easy. Maybe it was because I was in that mood to read a book that didn't require me to use my brain overly much, that I found I couldn't put the book down.
It kind of reminded me of a G rated substitute for Outlander.
