Get ready for a bookish costume parade!
This open-ended challenge invites you to choose your reads based on one simple question: Could you turn that book cover into a Halloween costume? Use your imagination to create costumes inspired by what you see on the cover—whether it’s a character, creature, vibe, or visual element.
You don’t need to actually dress up—just picture how the cover art could walk down a Halloween parade runway.
Books can count if the title, cover, or theme sparks a costume idea. Make it spooky, silly, or stylish—it’s up to you!
Examples include:
A character you could become (witch, knight, detective, vampire)
A creature or object on the cover (cat, skeleton, sword, mask)
A dramatic fashion moment or unique accessory
A visual vibe you could translate into a look (gothic, whimsical, futuristic)
A clever or punny concept based on the title or artwork
To join, post a message telling the challenge leader how many books you plan to read. If you are new to our group and/or our group challenges, take a moment to check out the Yearly, Quarterly, Monthly Challenges - Start Here thread for more information on how our challenges are run.
Thanks to JennH for agreeing to lead this challenge!
