And done! Really enjoyed my re-read. I think saskia is a great MC, and I really like her daughter Lotte too.I just wish Eduardo ballerini was better at accents... In this book alone I discovered he can't do Dutch, Scottish, Indian or Australian 😆
Yeah, but he can do a Texan accent pretty well.teehee
I just started the reread yesterday, and plan to get most of it if not all finished today. I agree about Saskia. I just love the opening scene with the plane landing amidst the unexpected wildlife. Definitely sets the tone for the book.
I also find her conversation with her daughter about getting "vitamin D" amusing. The Dutch are some much less puritanical than other countries. When we moved back to the UK, I had to seriously dial back the kind of stuff I would have said, because the Dutch are so much more forward and the British can't handle that 😆
ok, ok I am gonna start this chunker so I can use and finish before the end of the month, but just know I am a bit over Sci-Fi books at the moment 🤯
So true. My first thought/feelings of the book gave me National Geographic episode vibes. Also definitely written during Covid times🤯
