Miller Liam | 4 comments What struck me most reading The President: A Queer Utopia is how Lucian S. uses utopian and queer imaginaries not just as escapism, but as a powerful critique of power, of identity, of what 'public life' could mean if reimagined. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this: in what ways does the novel’s utopian vision challenge the traditional boundaries between private/queer life and political power? And do you think the author succeeds in making queer utopia feel both radical and internally believable?
I’m honestly shocked that no one else on Goodreads seems to have read this book yet. Beyond its bold queer politics, the unexpected tenderness of its romance makes me wonder why more people aren’t already raving about it.
